From what I've read, no crater.

Something traveling that fast would be insanely hot and prone to breakup in the atmosphere, so a large crater isn't necessarily a requirement of a meteoroid event.

They "allegedly" did detect high proportions of nickel relative to iron in the area following, which would give credence to the meteoroid theory, but who knows if that's fake news.

 

I'm not saying one thing or another happened, just that I haven't seen anything that would rule out a meteor.
