I found a recent connection to "Godolphin" IN "History of England" Part One by historian Thomas Babington Macaulay

"Godolphin," back in the day, was a "macher" in the Court of the royalty of England, working in the gap between two parties.

Gurdjieff himself is said to have had a falling out with Bennet. And rejected him finally. Bennett went on to continure to create a "teaching" for the work of Gurdjieff.
