Google absolutely has access to huge troves of classified intelligence, is a world leader in quantum computing and is critical to US NatSec. So most likely is a shell game of sorts with Schmidt playing some unknown role - possibly as a double agent or patriot behind the scenes.
As for @Snowden, I’ll buy that he was just a manufactured celebrity for global interests looking to subvert America’s role as global hegemon. But how that relates to Schmidt is unclear.
Generally, I don’t buy that Q is going to disclose publicly that X player is a traitor, but allow them to maintain their high level government positions. Critical thinking goes beyond merely accepting what is read on the internet..
