Where did Jeffrey Epstein’s family come from? Poland? Is Poland also where the Spielberg Epstein’s came from? Yes? I don’t speak Yiddish, Polish nor Russian so my searching is confined to US documents. If both Epstein families are connected, those connections will be found in non-US records.

Jeffrey’s parents were Pauline (née Stolofsky, 1918–2004) and Seymour G. Epstein per wikipedia http://archive.is/F5TBv

Seymour on the 1930 Census with his brother Arnold and parents Julius, Bessie https://archive.org/details/newyorkcensus00reel1529/page/n1042/mode/1up

Seymour’s father = Julius Epstein, his death info https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:2WTJ-ZP6

Seymour’s mother = Bessie Tesher (or Fisher)

Julius with his family on the 1910 census which includes their stated immigration years among other data https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33S7-9RVJ-6GB

Julius’ father = Morris Epstein, is this a transcription of his death certificate? https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:2WKZ-T7S

Julius’ mother = Sarah, is this a transcription of her death certificate? https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:2WKD-LWD

Ages don’t match the censuses but that is a common occurrence in genealogy, along with names that change spelling.

One of Julius’ brothers was Meyer Epstein, his WWI draft card https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33SQ-G16B-9SR4?i=1895

How do I know this is the “right” Meyer Epstein? Hint on the 1920 census https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33SQ-GRNX-K1Y

Why do we care about his draft card? Because it states where he was born — in Bailystok, Poland (back then, “Russia”).

Historical records provide a wealth of information, censuses in particular show a lot more than just who lived where.
