That's the cool part, though. Anons could be good and decent people, live their lives as they always have, and one day, they suddenly realize the world is changing for the better, quality of life continues to improve for all, and when they start asking why, there will be plenty of people around to explain.
The plan, as it is, allows a spectrum of personalities to apply their talents, and share in this experience. It's not another gatekeeping effort or system of control. It's a movement that encourages people to think for themselves. The fact that the enemies to can and follow along is great because everyone knows that the pain usually isn't as bad as knowing (or not knowing, for that matter) when it's coming.
Be a naysayer, or jump in for the big win. Just be careful of your motivations. At the end of the day, that's what counts.
