SAME THING IN COLORADO

The number of coronavirus (COVID-19) cases statewide has increased to 33 as 16 additional people tested presumptive positive, the state health department announced Wednesday afternoon.

In addition to the 33 presumptive positive cases, one indeterminate case was announced Monday in Denver County. An indeterminate status means the test did not provide conclusive results.

With the latest cases, coronavirus has now been found in ten Colorado counties: Arapahoe, Jefferson, Larimer, Denver, Douglas, Eagle, Summit, Pitkin, Gunnison and El Paso County.

All of the cases are considered presumptive because the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention confirmation is still pending. States can test for the virus, but CDC provides the official confirmation.

The governor declared a state of emergency in Colorado in order to help better contain the spread of the virus. The World Health Organization declared that the global coronavirus crisis is now a pandemic. The NCAA closed all March Madness games to the public.
