In the early '80s I heard that Gates stole DOS from the creator of CPM (C/PM? CP/M?). My friend seemed to be annoyed that Gates/Microsoft was getting the attention and the bucks, while CPM was being relegated to obscurity. Perhaps this is enough for other Anons to dig a bit more.
