Jesus during his 3 year ministry lived in a time when Roman occupation was oppressive. Add in the above 'religious nuts' and He never stood a chance.
How He managed to elude capture and the inevitable is beyond me considering the limited area of his ministry.
Preaching and healing while looking over His shoulder the whole time.
Must of been an exhausting existence at best.
Quite remarkable in its own right even if you do not believe in Him.
