No, she's over 60, so she's probably cold-natured. A scarf is more comfortable and less constraining than a suit jacket or blazer, keeps shoulders warm in air conditioning.
Not stupid, necessarily; they are just ignorant of many things (as I was at that age!) because they hadn't been exposed to much yet.
This is why I think education has to be the next big priority. So many kids are smart as hell, and soak up new info like sponges. There MUST be a better way to deliver the information they need to gain than our current school model. And if they pick new material up well, and quickly, they need a faster pace. Slower learners simply need different delivery method, until they find one that works for their abilities. The trick is to find each kid's individual strengths (fast!) then pick up that ball and run with it.
