Pizza rat has even more competition.

In the latest viral video of a subway animal carrying an item that is far too large for its tiny body, a rat with an egg sandwich has won the internet's heart.

Dubbed Egg McMuffin rat, the rodent appears to be carrying a McDonald's Egg McMuffin down the stairs of a New York subway station.

"And just like that a star was born—Egg McMuffin Rat #subwaycreatures," wrote @SubwayCreatures on Twitter. The account is dedicated to the offbeat and comical happenings of subways.

Laurie Weir, 40, said she filmed the video March 9 around 11:30 p.m. at the subway station entrance at Joralemon and Court Streets in Brooklyn.

"It was garbage night so lots of bags out lining Joralemon St. I saw two rats, and this one was carrying something big in his mouth so I grabbed my phone and starting filming him on his pursuit down the stairs," Weir wrote in an email to USA TODAY.

"He deserves it," one onlooker says in the video posted Friday as the rat appears to make its way down the stairs.

Another onlooker asks what the rat is carrying, and the first responds that it's a McDonald's Egg McMuffin.

Weir said she and her friend, Rachel Noonan, 41 are the ones who can be heard in the video as they were coming home from a late dinner. She said she nor the video were tied to any promotion for McDonald's.

Responses to the video were positive as people praised the rat for being a "hard workin mom making sure she bring home a treat for her kids on this Friday morning. Bless."

Another said, "The skill in which he keeps the inside of the McMuffin from falling out is incredible!"

Others praised the rat amid the new coronavirus outbreak.
