Look, we do understand that German anabaptists and Puritans and Quakers and other pacifists throughout the colonies thought that the colonists should not be making war against England's tyranny. Because the more they fought back, the harder England brought their jackboots down on new world necks.

They raised taxes, they put British into their homes..anything to suppress those rowdy colonials. And there were PLENTY of colonials that were angry about it, and didn't want the war for Independence. Because it was uncomfortable. Because people died. Because people went hungry.

But the colonists didn't CAUSE that. England did. (and blamed the colonials, of course, so others would turn against them and undermine the fight.)

 

A people's fight for permanent freedom of everyone outweighs your personal difficulties, which will be temporary. WWG1WGA means that. We are all going to suffer temporary inconveniences. But we will not be swayed this time either. Pick up your musket, dust your breeches off, wipe your eyes with your fichu, and get to work.
