the electric field equation implies a magnetic field equation and vica-versa. So it's a 'thing' as in a methodology, yes. but there are always two equations. ONe describes the electric field. the ohter describes the magnetic. Adn the two equations are orthogonal, meaning they are 90 degrees skewed from each other , perpendicular.
it's 1 thing described in 2 different ways in general practice.
