Anons, the FDA just pulled Zantac off market. Zantac is the brand name for ranitidine. I searched PubMed for ranitidine and coronavirus and this research came up. I don't know enough biochemistry/medicine to evaluate whether this is significant but it at least seems suspicious given that “We didn’t observe unacceptable levels of NDMA in many of the [Zantac] samples that we tested”. The HKMJ research text mentions ranitidine bismuth citrate, so I looked that up. Like Zantac it can be used for heartburn and stomach ulcers. A contraindication is acute porphyria!
