USAID PREDICT
Oct. 25, 2019 "the federal government is quietly shutting down a surveillance program for dangerous animal viruses that someday may infect humans…The program, known as Predict and run by the United States Agency for International Development…Congress, along with the administrations of George W. Bush and Barack Obama, were “enormously supportive"…But things got complicated in the last two years, and by January, Predict was essentially collapsed into hibernation…A Predict laboratory helped identify bat-borne viruses that a boys’ soccer team might have been exposed to while trapped for weeks in a cave in Thailand." https://www.nytimes.com/2019/10/25/health/predict-usaid-viruses.html
An investigator on the PREDICT-2 project from 10/1/18-9/30/19 was Dean T. Jamison. He wrote a paper in 2016 "The Inclusive Cost of Pandemic Influenza Risk". "The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation provided partial financial support for this research"
In 2016, Jamison, Christopher Murray and Fauci were among the speakers at the 7th Annual Global Health Conference. The Consortium of Universities for Global Health, "CUGH was established in 2008 with generous funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and The Rockefeller Foundation."
Jamison lead a team in preparing the World Development Report 1993. Also on this team was Christopher J.L. Murray, Director of IHME - the "Murray Model" that Dr. Birx references. "Dr. Murray played a key role in the creation of the 1993 World Development Report, considered a touchstone for all subsequent attempts to study the effects of health policy and health investment on health outcomes. He returned to Harvard to help launch the Harvard Initiative for Global Health (now the Harvard Institute for Global Health) as its first director." https://www.tedmed.com/speakers/show?id=17716
