CDC now recommends the wearing of cloth masks in public, especially in hot spots.

Cloth masks DO NOT offer superior protection from others' microdroplets, but they do a fairly good job of protecting others from YOU. Therefore if we all wear them, then we are protecting each other. Wear the mask, keep your distance, avoid touching surfaces and keep your hands away from your face, especially after touching items in public you have to touch. Wash hands frequently and before removing the mask.

Even wearing a bandanna over your face is better than nothing. Again, this is not to protect yourself so much as helping not to spread your microdroplets everywhere you go. If everyone does this, then we all are better off.

Some areas of the country are actually thinking about mandatory face covering ordinances.
