I was listening to Easter songs this am and thought of Jesus dying for our sins

Perhaps throughout all time on earth there were souls that took the darkness from this world when the earth could no longer deal with it?

but what if many of good people dying at this time, volunteered to die like Jesus, to remove more darkness from the earth.
