Vaccines, for Bill Gates, are a strategic philanthropy that feed his many vaccine-related businesses (including Microsoft’s ambition to control a global vaccination ID enterprise) and give him dictatorial control of global health policy.

Gates’ obsession with vaccines seems to be fueled by a conviction to save the world with technology.

Promising his share of $450 million of $1.2 billion to eradicate Polio, Gates took control of India’s National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization (NTAGI) which mandated up to 50 doses (Table 1) of polio vaccines through overlapping immunization programs to children before the age of five. Indian doctors blame the Gates campaign for a devastating non-polio acute flaccid paralysis (NPAFP) epidemic that paralyzed 490,000 children beyond expected rates between 2000 and 2017. In 2017, the Indian government dialed back Gates’ vaccine regimen and asked Gates and his vaccine policies to leave India. NPAFP rates dropped precipitously.

During Gates’ 2002 MenAfriVac campaign in Sub-Saharan Africa, Gates’ operatives forcibly vaccinated thousands of African children against meningitis. Approximately 50 of the 500 children vaccinated developed paralysis. JPMorgan Scrambles To Raise Mortgage Borrowing Standards Ahead Of "Biggest Wave Of Defaults In History"

Earlier this week when we reported that JPMorgan has quietly halted all non-Paycheck Protection Program based loan issuance for the foreseeable future, we said that we didn't buy the stated reason namely - the bank was drowning in (government-backstopped) applications and would be willing to forego millions in easy, recurring net interest income and that instead the real reason why JPMorgan would "temporarily suspend" all non-government backstopped loans such as PPP, is if the bank expects a default tsunami to hit, coupled with a full-blown depression that wipes out the value of assets pledged to collateralize the loans. Furthermore, why issue loans that will default in months if not weeks, just as bankruptcy courts fill up with millions of cases (assuming the coronavirus clears out by then, as the alternative is simply unthinkable - a default tsunami without any functioning Chapter 11 or Chapter 7 process) when JPM can simply stick to the 100% risk-free issuance of government-guaranteed small-business loans which pay a handsome 1% interest, especially if it makes JPM look patriotic by doing its duty to bail out America.

Over the weekend our skepticism was confirmed when Reuters reported that JPMorgan, the country’s largest lender by assets and which will kick off earnings season tomorrow, will raise borrowing standards this week for most new home loans as the bank "moves to mitigate lending risk stemming from the novel coronavirus disruption."

Starting Tuesday, customers applying for a new mortgage will need a credit score of at least 700, and will be required to make a down payment equal to 20% of the home’s value (something which we thought was the norm after the last financial crisis, but apparently lending conditions had eased quite a bit in the past decade).

“Due to the economic uncertainty, we are making temporary changes that will allow us to more closely focus on serving our existing customers,” Amy Bonitatibus, chief marketing officer for JPMorgan Chase’s home lending business, told Reuters.

According to Reuters, "the change highlights how banks are quickly shifting gears to respond to the darkening U.S. economic outlook and stress in the housing market, after measures to contain the virus put 16 million people out of work and plunged the country into recession."

What the change really highlights is that after halting its exposure to plain vanilla, non-government guaranteed loans, JPMorgan is now quietly pulling out of that other market where it makes the bulk of its revenues - mortgages - ahead of a tsunami of mortgage defaults, which last week we dubbed "The Next Crisis" as "Up To 30% Of All Mortgages Will Default In "Biggest Wave Of Delinquencies In History."

Sure enough, JPMorgan - the fourth largest U.S. mortgage lender in 2019 - not only agrees with this dour assessment, but is taking proactive measures to mitigate its exposure to this wave of defaults but minimizing its exposure as soon as it can. And with JPM setting the stage, it is only a matter of days before all other banks follow and lock out tens of million of even credit-worthy Americans with less than prime credit scores, out of the housing market for years.

UK Finance Ministry Expects Up to 30% Fall in GDP Due to COVID-19 Pandemic

Since registering its first coronavirus (COVID-19) case on 1 February, the United Kingdom has been struggling with the rapid spread of the novel virus that has prompted the shutting down all businesses across the country in a bid to contain the outbreak.

UK Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak, during a cabinet discussion on easing lockdown restrictions amid the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak, has said that country’s gross domestic product (GDP) is expected to fall between 25 to 30 percent between April and June, according to Reuters.

According to the report, ten unnamed members of the UK cabinet called for easing the coronavirus restrictions by May.

“It's important that we don't end up doing more damage with the lockdown. We're looking at another three weeks of lockdown and then we can start to ease it", one of the ministers reportedly said.

On 3 April, UK Health Secretary Matt Hancock said that the COVID-19 outbreak in the United Kingdom is expected to reach its peak by mid-April.

Britain's economy suffered a slight decline in GDP even before the beginning of the coronavirus outbreak due to business activities in the country slowing down following the UK’s departure from the European Union, per The Guardian.

As the UK is due to publish updated debt issuance plans on April 23, some economists expect the country’s economy might see its biggest downturn in over a century, while projecting the budget deficit this year to be the highest since the Second World War, according to Reuters.

As of Sunday, the United Kingdom has confirmed more than 85,000 COVID-19 cases, including over 10,600 fatalities because of the disease, according to the Johns Hopkins University coronavirus dashboard.

Anticipation Over U.S. Attorney John Durham’s Investigation Builds

Anticipation over United States Attorney John Durham’s investigation is growing as Attorney General William Barr recently hinted he is building the case to prosecute people.

“He is looking to bring to justice people who are engaged in abuses if he can show that they were criminal violations, and that’s what the focus is on,” Barr told Fox News’s Laura Ingraham on Thursday. “He’s diligently pursuing it.”

The comments have heartened those who have long awaited consequences for current and former officials who investigated the Trump campaign on the basis of a discredited dossier put together by ex-British spy Christopher Steele that was funded by the Clinton campaign.

Barr tapped Durham last year to investigate the origins of the Obama administration’s investigation into the Trump campaign, as well as actions taken up through President Trump’s inauguration. Last fall, Durham upgraded his investigation to a criminal one.

Durham relocated from Connecticut to Washington, D.C., in March, so that he could continue work on his investigation amid the coronavirus pandemic, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Time is of the essence, with an election looming in November. Barr is reportedly looking to have the investigation finished by the end of summer.

“The closer we get to election day, the more any charges he brought would be framed by the media as kind of a Trump campaign stunt,” former U.S. Attorney Andrew McCarthy told WMAL on Saturday.

“So I really think it’s in his interest, especially after pouring two years of effort into this, to get with it by the late spring at the latest, because we all know if the president doesn’t win reelection, this investigation is going down the memory hole,” he said.

“We’re getting to the point where a decision has to be made, one way or the other,” he added.

Durham is reportedly focusing in on the role of intelligence officials in the investigation of the Trump campaign. Durham’s team reportedly began interviews at the CIA earlier this year.

Durham’s team is looking at former CIA Director John Brennan’s role in the investigation – whether he pushed for an intelligence community assessment (ICA) more damaging to Trump.

Specifically, Durham’s team is also looking into whether Brennan pushed for the ICA to include that Russia had interfered to help Trump, when not all intelligence agencies concurred with the same degree of confidence.

The CIA and the FBI had “high confidence” the interference was aimed at helping Trump, but the National Security Agency only had “moderate confidence.” Durham has already met with the former head of NSA, Ret. Admiral Mike Rogers.

Durham’s team has reportedly also focused on current and former officials at the National Intelligence Council, a unit at the Director of National Intelligence’s office that coordinated the ICA.

‘Biggest worry now is people dying of hunger’: Pakistani PM calls for coronavirus relief package for developing world

Noting that Islamabad, as much of the developing world, is facing a dilemma of either losing people to hunger from lockdowns or letting the virus ravage the population, Pakistan’s Imran Khan urged to set up a global relief fund.

Khan made an appeal to world leaders, global financial institutions and the UN Secretary General “to ditch out a stimulus package for the developing world to help them through this economic downturn,” on Sunday, as the number of Covid-19 cases in the country reached 5,230, with 91 fatalities.

The PM highlighted the income gap between well-off developed countries that may inject a lump sum into their economies, under strain due to lockdowns, and the developing world which is effectively trapped between a rock and a hard place with its lack of resources.

Pakistan, which is home to some 220 million people, was able to issue a relief package worth $8 billion, on condition that it can be further expanded when more resources are at hand. Khan drew a comparison between what Islambad had to offer and a mammoth $2 trillion US coronavirus relief bill as well as equally generous relief plans by Europe’s powerhouse Germany and Japan.

Pakistan, on the other hand, is facing an impossible choice of “rather choose starvation from lockdown or the coronavirus,” Khan said. Arguing that the world is heading into a “recession worse than the Great Depression,” the PM said that the spread of the virus on a global scale won’t be stopped without “a strong, coordinated and well-crafted global response.”

The coronavirus outbreak in Pakistan has moved quickly since it was first detected in Quetta, located in the southwestern province of Balochistan, last month. The country has faced shortages of protective equipment and masks. The lack of gear sparked clashes between doctors and police in Quetta last week that led to dozens of medical professionals being arrested.

In addition to calling on the international community to chip in, Pakistan also requested assistance from The International Monetary Fund (IMF), which is set to consider an extra loan of $1.4 billion to Pakistan on April 16.

Agents Seize Drugs, Cash, Weapons from Armed Smuggler at Arizona Interior Checkpoint

Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents stopped an armed man from smuggling a small quantity of drugs and cash through an interior immigration checkpoint. The agents also seized two firearms in the incident.

Agents assigned to the Interstate 8 Immigration Checkpoint on Wednesday observed a 2013 Subaru Outback approaching for inspection. During the initial immigration interview, the agents identified the driver as a U.S. citizen. As the initial contact continued, a Border Patrol K-9 alerted to an odor it is trained to detect near the rear of the vehicle, according to information obtained from Yuma Sector Border Patrol officials.

The agents referred the 38-year-old driver to the secondary inspection area. Agents conducted a search of the vehicle led to the discovery of drugs, cash, and a shotgun in the trunk. The man allegedly his packages of methamphetamine, hashish, and marijuana in the trunk. The agents also found a large quantity cash during the search.

A search of the interior of the vehicle led to the discovery of a pistol hidden from the passenger floorboard, officials stated.

The agents arrested the driver and turned him over to the Yuma County Narcotics Task Force where he will face prosecution for the possession of the drugs, cash, and firearms. Officials seized the contraband and the vehicle.

In countries such as Italy and Spain, and to some extent Great Britain and the US, a serious overload of hospitals, notably by the flu, is not unusual. In addition, up to 15% of doctors and nurses currently have to self-quarantine, even if they develop no symptoms.

Open Letter from Professor Sucharit Bhakdi to German Chancellor Dr. Angela Merkel

Dear Chancellor,

As Emeritus of the Johannes-Gutenberg-University in Mainz and longtime director of the Institute for Medical Microbiology, I feel obliged to critically question the far-reaching restrictions on public life that we are currently taking on ourselves in order to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

It is expressly not my intention to play down the dangers of the virus or to spread a political message. However, I feel it is my duty to make a scientific contribution to putting the current data and facts into perspective – and, in addition, to ask questions that are in danger of being lost in the heated debate.

The reason for my concern lies above all in the truly unforeseeable socio-economic consequences of the drastic containment measures which are currently being applied in large parts of Europe and which are also already being practiced on a large scale in Germany.

My wish is to discuss critically – and with the necessary foresight – the advantages and disadvantages of restricting public life and the resulting long-term effects.

To this end, I am confronted with five questions which have not been answered sufficiently so far, but which are indispensable for a balanced analysis.

I would like to ask you to comment quickly and, at the same time, appeal to the Federal Government to develop strategies that effectively protect risk groups without restricting public life across the board and sow the seeds for an even more intensive polarization of society than is already taking place.

1. Statistics

In infectiology – founded by Robert Koch himself – a traditional distinction is made between infection and disease. An illness requires a clinical manifestation. [1] Therefore, only patients with symptoms such as fever or cough should be included in the statistics as new cases.

In other words, a new infection – as measured by the COVID-19 test – does not necessarily mean that we are dealing with a newly ill patient who needs a hospital bed. However, it is currently assumed that five percent of all infected people become seriously ill and require ventilation. Projections based on this estimate suggest that the healthcare system could be overburdened.

My question: Did the projections make a distinction between symptom-free infected people and actual, sick patients – i.e. people who develop symptoms?
