Looking at things from a basically rational and "human" standpoint, I'd think that it really would make sense for Greenland to be part of the US. I suppose it would be a territory.
I suppose the bulk of the actual population are "native" peoples as opposed to Danish. The US already has Alaska with a vast range of related peoples. Plus they are related to the "native Indian" peoples of the lower 48…
The US is a much more powerful nation and can better supply "services"… that is perhaps a a crass way of putting it… but I suppose many of the native peoples just want to get on with their lives. And for those that want access to a "bigger" world, the US offers more opportunity than Denmark (screw the EU).
I suspect that if there were a plebiscite among those resident in Greenland, they'd opt for the US…
And I like the Danish… good country… I like Russia too, but Russians got incorporated into Alaska…
