The choice to know may not (only) refer to Jack's evil crimes. In fact, I wager most people will probably find that out eventually.

The choice to know may encompass truths much bigger than that. Perhaps much more profound. More mind blowing in their implications for our understanding of the darkness we emerge from, and also about how truly limitlless is the light. These truths will inevitably challenge our understanding of our very reality. Most couldn't cope with that truth. Most aren't yet ready to let go of their attachments to their understanding of this world.

The spiritual nature of this silent war may only be fully understood by those who choose to go the distance in seeking the truth.
