After days of examining satellite views of ground level quakes, it became apparent (to me) that gold mines are really waste treatment plants for the tunnel drilling. Robot tunnel borers are processing the gold as they go, and chemicals used are just flowing out of tunnel openings.

 

How to test my theory? Well, they've been trying to get Pebble mine going near lake Illiamna for years now, so let's see if things look polluted over there.

Also some pics from a guy who went to check out the proposed site. Note big patches of grasses dead, but you can see lush green in the background. Everything should be green, it's summer in Alaska, you just don't see big patches of dead vegetation.

They've already been mining here through their tunnel network for many years. Desperately needs cleaned up.
