Why have parties at all? Seems to me that once upon a time people grew up with certain values and that is what sort of determined where they fell as far as party affiliation goes. Values first, party affiliation based on already existing values. Somewhere along the line though, it got reversed, now people will change their values based upon which party they think they want to belong to and modify their behavior/values accordingly. That is not good.
