Certain laws and EO's give POTUS wide authority on dealing with domestic insurgents, especially those that have enlisted the help of foreign governments, organizations, and individuals.

we can't take the simple notion that crushing the Dems with a Big Red Wave in November will solve everything.

There is a ton of rot in the GOP and I, for one, would love to see the death of both the R and D parties by 2024. Surely, Americans can do much better than the current two-party system to have groups representing them politically.
