RE: masks

This is an excerpt from an email I received from my optometrist. Full sheep mode.

A note to our patients about the coronavirus (COVID-19)

Our office has been actively monitoring the guidance of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as well as state and local government. We have decided to follow suit in the latest decision to start opening up Texas. Our office will begin to see patients for examinations this coming Monday, May 4, 2020. We plan to open back up in phases so that we can continue to serve our community and provide you and your family with great customer care, while still doing our part to help flatten the curve.

While we always strive for exceptionally high standards for cleanliness and safety, we have shared specific instructions with our staff members on the importance of additional measures we are taking at this time, specifically the importance of washing their hands and staying home if they feel sick.

Additionally, some things we are already implementing in our office as well as new sanitary protocols to reduce the amount of contact between patients/staff are as follows:

*All patients are being asked to fill out paperwork online: (www.abileneadvancedeyecare.com)

*All patients will need to wear a mask during the duration of their visit. If you do not have a mask, please let our staff know and we can provide one for you.

*Please, patients only during this time, no extra guests brought with patients.

*Concierge Exams: Please remain in your vehicle until your time of appointment. Send us a text when you arrive and we will alert you when to come in. You will be asked to wash your hands and then will be taken directly to the examination room.

*If any coughing/sneezing/fever please call us to reschedule.

*We’ll be asking anyone being seen for an exam who is coughing/sneezing to reschedule (2 weeks out) if they arrive in this condition. In addition, we will also be taking your temperature to check for fever. If a fever is detected, you will be asked to reschedule.

*If you have been in contact with anyone who is showing signs of COVID-19, please reschedule your appointment 2 weeks out.
