Bing Liu "was on the verge of making very significant findings" in a SARS-CoV-2 research project at the University of Pittsburgh, his department said.

A man who police said was found shot dead at his Ross Township home was a research assistant professor at the University of Pittsburgh, where he was working on a coronavirus research project.

Police said they believe that Bing Liu, 37, was shot inside his Elm Court townhome by a man who then went outside to his car and shot himself. Liu's death is believed to be a homicide, police said. The second man was found dead inside the vehicle on Charlemagne Circle, police said. He has not yet been identified.

Liu was a researcher with the department of computational and systems biology in the Pitt School of Medicine, the department said Monday.

"Bing was on the verge of making very significant findings toward understanding the cellular mechanisms that underlie SARS-CoV-2 infection and the cellular basis of the following complications," the department said in a written statement. "We will make an effort to complete what he started in an effort to pay homage to his scientific excellence."

Liu was described as an outstanding researcher and mentor, with expertise in computational modeling and analysis of biological systems dynamics.

"His loss will be felt throughout the entire scientific community," the university said.

Police said Liu and the man who shot him knew each other. Authorities have not discussed a possible motive for the shooting, which remained under investigation Monday.

I posted this late last bread. Please take note. I use this everywhere I go for access WITHOUT a mask!

Pennsylvania put a mask mandate out. If anyone in PA actually read the mandate, on page 5 (last page) Item 6. This is the actual item number that states you must wear a mask into any establishment…..HOWEVER, If you read all of item 6 there is an exception.

It states "however, individuals who cannot wear a mask due to a medical condition (including children under the age of 2 years per CDC) may enter the premises and are not required to provide documentation of such medical condition"

I go grocery shopping at a large store and when I walk in they ask "sir do you have a mask?" I reply "I have a medical condition"

The Gestapo at the door then reply "have a nice day"

If anyone in PA is not using this to enter without a mask you are a fool.

Any store, LEO, etc will be violating the state's own mandate to kick you out, fine you or attempt to arrest you. At that point review the "color of law" violation consequences they face.

I will never wear a mask 24/7/365. I’ve carried a mask with me for entrance in to grocery stores, local businesses, etc. out of respect for them. “China has a history of infecting the world, and they have a history of running substandard laboratories,” he explained to host Martha Raddatz. “These are not the first times that we’ve had a world exposed to viruses as a result of failures in a Chinese lab”

“While the intelligence community continues to do its work, they should continue to do that, and verify so that we are certain, I can tell you that there is a significant amount of evidence that this came from that laboratory in Wuhan,” he added.

In late April, President Trump also indicated that he had a high degree of confidence that the illness came from the Chinese lab.

When we find domestic, non-government campaigns that include groups of accounts and Pages seeking to mislead people about who they are and what they are doing while relying on fake accounts, we remove both inauthentic and authentic accounts, Pages and Groups directly involved in this activity.

Foreign or Government Interference (FGI)

If we find any instances of CIB conducted on behalf of a government entity or by a foreign actor, we apply the broadest enforcement measures including the removal of every on-platform property connected to the operation itself and the people and organizations behind it.

Continuous Enforcement

We monitor for efforts to re-establish a presence on Facebook by networks we previously removed for CIB. Using both automated and manual detection, we continuously remove accounts and Pages connected to networks we took down in the past.

Summary of April 2020 Findings

This month, we removed eight networks of accounts, Pages and Groups. Two of them — from Russia and Iran — focused internationally (FGI), and the remaining six — in the US, Georgia, Myanmar and Mauritania — targeted domestic audiences in their respective countries (CIB). We have shared information about our findings with law enforcement, policymakers and industry partners.

We know that people looking to mislead others — whether through phishing, scams, or influence operations — try to leverage crises to advance their goals, and the coronavirus pandemic is no different. Please, when can we reopen?! I'm concerned about stores running out of inventory for certain items. I understand little hot spots of COVID-19 are still happening. Why isn't the public also told to minimize use of shared objects? Example: serving spoons at a family dinner. Handwashing is not enough. Kansas City mayor defends ‘Nazi-like’ policy registering people attending church

A conservative law firm is calling a new order in Kansas City, Missouri, "Nazi-like" for requiring churches to "surveil, track, and spy" on anyone who attends an in-person service.

Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas issued the 10/10/10 rule in effect May 5, ordering that nonessential businesses, like churches, can have 10 people inside and 50 people outside as long as they practice social distancing. They also must record the information of anyone who spends more than 10 minutes inside.

In addition, nonessential businesses can operate at 10 percent maximum capacity.

The order states that by recording names and contact information, the health department will be able “to more quickly trace, test, and isolate individuals who may have been exposed to COVID-19.” Anyone who doesn't provide their information won't be allowed in.

“Our goal isn’t to see what everyone is doing and be Big Brother,” Lucas said, according to FOX 4, but that's not how many in the community see it.

At least one church feared its rights were being violated and contacted Mat Staver, founder and chairman of Liberty Counsel, a legal nonprofit that has been defending churches amid coronavirus lockdown orders.

“They’re targeting people and you have to give them your name and contact information as a prerequisite,” Staver told the "Todd Starnes Show" Monday. “What did they start doing in Nazi Germany? They started targeting people. They started to collect their names and their data so that they knew who they were and where they’ve been.”

Attorney General Bill Barr's Justice Department is looking into the matter, according to Staver, who threatened legal action if the policy doesn't change. The DOJ recently sided with a Virginia church suing Gov. Ralph Northam after police threatened a pastor with jail time or a $2,500 fine for violating an executive order and holding a 16-person church service on Palm Sunday.

"These attacks on churches cannot stand," Staver added in a statement Friday. "We will fight these cases all the way to the Supreme Court if we must."

Beyond church walls, business owners have complained they can't operate under the strict guidelines, FOX 4 reports.

Lucas encouraged anyone who sees a business or church violating the new guidelines to report them on the city's 311 line.

Senator Grassley praised AG William Barr and acting DNI Richard Grenell in a statement released on Monday adding that he did not question Evanina’s credentials.

President Trump has nominated William Evanina for the post twice but Sen. Grassley had placed a hold on the nomination.

DNI Rick Grenell has only been acting DNI since February and is already making his presence known.

Sen. Chuck Grassley on Monday lifted his hold on President Donald Trump’s pick to be the nation’s counterintelligence chief, ending a blockade that began nearly two years ago.

Grassley initially blocked William Evanina’s nomination to head the National Counterintelligence and Security Center in June 2018, demanding the Justice Department fork over documents on its probe of possible links between the Trump campaign and Moscow — which he claimed House committees received in their Russia investigations, including those related to Justice Department official Bruce Ohr, who became a go-between for former British spy Christopher Steele and the FBI.

In a statement submitted for the record Monday, Grassley stressed that he “did not question Mr. Evanina’s credentials in any way” and said his change of heart came after he received the documents he requested, praising Attorney General William Barr and acting DNI Richard Grenell.

“If their predecessors had simply respected legitimate congressional oversight and their agreements with me and the Judiciary Committee from the beginning, Mr. Evanina would have been confirmed long ago,” according to Grassley.

“Let this also be a reminder that when it comes to congressional oversight, I will use all the tools at my disposal to get to the truth of the matter and get access to the records that I believe are necessary to advance my investigations,” he added.

The commonwealth of Virginia saw a surge in coronavirus cases this week after they changed the way they are counting COVID-19 testing.

Commonwealth officials announced that if the same person tests positive for coronavirus three times that will count as three separate cases of the virus.

Virginia is padding their numbers.

Governor Ralph Northam’s response team is explaining why the commonwealth has lagged in testing when compared to other states.

The state saw a historic increase in testing numbers Friday, jumping 15% in the last 24 hours, but a change in the methodology is behind the spike.

“You need to know the exact number of tests not the number of people who had tests,” said Dr. Daniel Carey, Virginia Secretary of Health and Human Resources.

During a COVID-19 briefing, The Virginia Department of Health announced it will now count the number of positive virus tests instead of the number of people who test positive.

That means if one person is tested three-times and all three tests come back positive, it counts as three instead of how the numbers were being counted before, which would have only been one because it was a single patient.

In March Governor Blackface Northam announced he was closing the state until June 10th.

The Federal Reserve: More Lethal than Coronavirus

Last week the Federal Reserve announced it will keep interest rates at or near zero until the economy recovers from the government-imposed shutdown. Following this announcement, Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell urged Congress and the Trump administration to put aside any concerns about the deficit and spend whatever it takes to stimulate the economy and combat coronavirus.

The Federal Reserve previously announced it would make unlimited purchases of Treasury securities, thus encouraging Congress and the president to increase spending and debt. With some members of Congress talking about another multi-trillion-dollar stimulus bill, and with President Trump proposing a two trillion dollars infrastructure plan as a way to get Americans back to work, it is obvious, and not surprising, that Congress and President Trump gleefully agree with Powell’s advice.

Increasing the purchase of federal debt is not the only action the Fed has taken in a desperate attempt to keep the economy afloat. Since the coronavirus lockdowns began in early March, the Fed has greatly expanded its balance sheet. The Federal Reserve has also launched an unprecedented program to “loan” money directly to businesses.

While some states are beginning to end the lockdowns, it may be months or even another year before all the lockdowns are finally ended. It is unlikely that the economy will completely recover after the shutdown ends.

The economy was teetering on the brink of a recession months before anyone heard of coronavirus. Last September, a panicked Fed began emergency infusions of cash into the repurchasing market, which is where banks make short-term loans to each other. The Fed’s balance sheet expansion also began in September. The Fed was also pushing interest rates down before the coronavirus panic, and it will likely keep rates at or even below zero long after the crisis related to the shutdown subsides.

Economic stagnation combined with zero or negative interest rates remove incentive for people to save. This depletes the supply of private capital available to invest in businesses and jobs. The lack of private capital will put pressure on the Federal Reserve to maintain, and even expand, its new lending programs indefinitely.

Each of the Federal Reserve’s responses to the coronavirus shutdown increases the distortions of the market caused by the Federal Reserve’s meddling with the money supply and interest rates. These increased distortions guarantee the inevitable crash will be much more severe than the current downturn. The one upside is that the next meltdown will likely lead to the end of the fiat money system and thus the end of the welfare-warfare state.

The only way to minimize the coming crisis is to begin immediately unwinding the current system. The first step is to end the lockdown and let businesses reopen and people go back to work. Congress must then begin challenging monetary policy by passing the Audit the Fed bill. Congress should also cut spending, starting with ending our hyper-interventionist foreign policy and bringing the troops home. Ending the welfare-warfare state and the fiat money system may cause some short-term pain, but that pain will be dwarfed by the long-term gains in liberty, peace, and prosperity.

Illegal Immigrants Are Suing the Government for Being Denied Coronavirus Stimulus Checks

A group of illegal immigrants with children who were born in the US are suing the federal government because they did not get checks from the stimulus package.

The Georgetown University law school’s Institute for Constitutional Advocacy and Protection filed the class-action lawsuit on behalf of the group in Maryland’s federal district court on Tuesday.

They claim that their exclusion is a violation of the Constitution.

“The refusal to distribute this benefit to U.S. citizen children undermines the CARES Act’s goal of providing assistance to Americans in need, frustrates the Act’s efforts to jumpstart the economy, and punishes citizen children for their parents’ status — punishment that is particularly nonsensical given that undocumented immigrants, collectively, pay billions of dollars each year in taxes,” their lawsuit reads.

The lawsuit alleges that their children, who were born in the US, are being “punished” because their parents are illegal immigrants.

In order to receive funds from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, which provided $1,200 for adults and $500 for each child, the person needs to have a Social Security number, something you only have if you are a US citizen.

Norma claims she lost her job at a restaurant and can’t get any money because she is not a citizen.

“I have lost my job, and in my home three adults have the coronavirus; none of us are working,” one of the plaintiffs, identified only as “Norma” said in a statement released through her lawyers. “My son is an American citizen, and we need him to receive the CARES Act benefit to provide food and a roof over his head until this difficult moment passes.”

The lawsuit argues denying relief money to children of illegal immigrants is unconstitutional under the Fifth Amendment “because the children are being discriminated against and treated differently from other US citizen children.”

The Department of Justice Office of the Inspector General (OIG) initiated this investigation upon the receipt of information from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Inspection Division (INSD) alleging that a then FBI Supervisory Intelligence Analyst (SIA) had stated, during a routine FBI security inquiry, that the SIA had viewed and downloaded child pornography from the internet several years earlier. The SIA denied ever receiving or sending child pornography.

The OIG obtained and forensically examined the SIA’s personal and FBI issued devices. Our examination identified pornographic images on the SIA’s personal devices, and the OIG took several steps to determine whether the images represented child pornography, including providing such images to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Based on the SIA’s statements during the security interview, the OIG investigation concluded that the SIA had knowingly possessed child pornography, in violation of federal law and FBI policy.

The SIA was summarily dismissed by the FBI while the OIG investigation was pending.

Prosecution of the SIA was declined.
