So I spent the day fighting with the county government. I have a farm structure and I need to get a 200 amp power box hooked up so I can have things like lights and tools and such. Easy stuff right? Get a permit, Pay the fees, get power and im done right? WRONG. Noooo. My barn does not have an ADDRESS.. because why the fuck would a barn have an address right? Oh!! and the road access that I never use is not up to some new code or another… BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE! I have to pay fees and fill our all sorts of forms and bullshit. The wire is literally 100 feet away from my barn. The county agent cant process it because they are stuck at home so they were bouncing me around all over the place to peoples cell phones and shit like that. What a nightmare.

Anyway, the entire county-owns-everything-and-we-rent-it fucking dogshit system NEEDS TO END. Fuck that shit and fuck them. I should be able to call the power company and tell those motherfuckers to roll a truck, run a wire and bill me. Fuck the county. Fuck their inspectors and fuck their goddammed paperwork and phone tag runaround.

Ohhh fuck man tell me about it. I have been running the place with 2 generators and a small bank of solar panels. I really want to set up a little shower with a hot water heater… you know 1900s tech right? I get sick of running a generator for 2 hours to warm 20 gallons of water to wash myself off before going home. I've got all that. Do you have any idea how much power it takes to heat a tank of water to take a shower….? Sure on a sunny day in Arizona that will work but head out to the PNW in January when a big storm comes down from Alaska to hit the Olympics (where I am at) and it rains for 3 weeks straight.
