Brian Ross reported to Behar. He who said the theatre shooter was a Tea Party member. I was awake and watching as the shooter news broke. How was he not fired for incompetence? Yet five years later, he was breaking misinformation for Behar. He did get in trouble for that Behar error:
On December 2, 2017, Ross was given a four-week suspension without pay after erroneously stating during a special report that Michael Flynn was preparing to testify that Donald Trump had directed him to make contact with Russian officials during his presidential campaign.
Ross was let go in 2018 after 24 years of lying as Chief Investigative Correspondent for ABC News.
For the shooter misstep, he was sorry, though:

The shooter, James Holmes (not a Tea Party member) has an interesting background. Flash coder.
In 2006, Holmes worked as an intern at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies where he was assigned to write computer code for an experiment
In June 2011, Holmes enrolled as a Ph.D. student in neuroscience at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora.[55] He received a $21,600 grant from the National Institutes of Health
He never did finish that PhD. Has a lot of time now, 12 life sentences + 3318 years.
