Backup everything but backup technology is GARBAGE

For those of you who think putting files on a HARDDRIVE or a SOLID STATE drive is a BACKUP - YOU ARE WRONG.

Theres a little thing called FEROMAGNETIC DEPOLARIZATION - Even if your HDD/SDD are stored perfectly they WILL lose and corrupt all data.

So what are our options seeing as it seems that consumer technology progress has been purposely HALTEd in favor of STEALING your ability to possess your data by creating more and more cloud and streaming services.

Bluray MDisc technology is your best bet. MDiscs can last for up to 1000 years according to DOD. The problem? BD has been out for years and their promises for high capacity have fizzled out. You can barely find 100GB BDs at super high prices.

And if you want real high capacity, bend over and take it in the ass because Archival Discs drives used by FACEBOOK start at around 6500.

Why are consumers left to store their precious data on Harddrives?

WHY DOES EVERYONE THINK HDD and SDD ARE GOOD for BACKUPS

Down with these asshole companies that are holding back out progress.

Why is it i cant find any good information on High capacity optical except in OTHER LANGUAGES like Chinese, Japanese and Russian?

Im tired of the LIES

Harddrives are shit-tier technology. their infant mortality rate is higher than aged mortality rate. if you trust your drive without testing it for the first 3 years you could lose everything.

that is not a soudn backup methodology anon.

Im talking about Optical Storage, the only valid long term storage option.

Harddrives are not for backup. They are not archival quality. Tapes are better but are old dying and expensive tech and still have fm depolarization problems

Nope not with optical mdiscs. you are thinking from a harddrive perspective. magnetic drives are GARBAGE. same with nand tech. garbage.

optical doesnt degrade when mdisc sapphire/metalic engraving based writing is used. dod tested.

this is tech we need as consumers. but they have been pushing for streaming and cloud so that we cant own our stuff

yeah thats why harddrive people are constantly crying how they lost everything. so just because something barely works doesnt mean we should be complacent. 128mb of ram was great for a wile and then we grew out of it.

harddrive/sdd tech is not meant as archival grade storage. no one in the ENTERPRISE uses that garbage.

its tape or bust and now facebook is on ARCHIVAL DISC.

They can store YOUR data but YOU CANT. not easily at least.

If you were an expert you would know that hdd are NOT FOR ARCHIVE. you are a tool. You never worked in an enterprise environment, clearly.
