New Docs Reveal Links Between Firm That Spied on Assange and the CIA, Says Investigative Journalist
US-based independent outlet The Gryazone has revealed deep links between a US casino billionaire, the CIA and the Spanish security firm which spied on the WikiLeaks publisher, his friends, family and lawyers while he was under the protection of the Ecuadorian Embassy.
Max Blumenthal is an award-winning investigative journalist, author and founder of The Grayzone, an independent news outlet. He has obtained High Court documents regarding the ongoing Spanish criminal investigation into David Morales, the Ecuadorian ex-special forces member and CEO of the Spanish security firm UC Global, which was revealed to have been spying on Julian Assange, despite originally being hired to provide protection for the Ecuadorian Embassy.
The documents obtained by Blumenthal and The Grayzone have revealed previously unknown details regarding the connection between David Morales, UC Global and Sheldon Adelson, the billionaire campaign contributor to US President Donald Trump.

EXCLUSIVE: The Treasury Department Spied on Flynn, Manafort, and the Trump Family, Says Whistleblower
President Barack Obama’s Treasury Department regularly surveilled retired Army Lt. Gen. Michael T. Flynn’s financial records and transactions beginning in December 2015 and well into 2017, before, during and after when he served at the White House as President Donald Trump’s National Security Director, a former senior Treasury Department official, and veteran of the intelligence community, told the Star Newspapers.
“I started seeing things that were not correct, so I did my own little investigation, because I wanted to make sure what I was seeing was correct” she said. “You never want to draw attention to something if there is not anything there.”
The whistleblower said she only saw metadata, that is names and dates when the general’s financial records were accessed. “I never saw what they saw.”
By March 2016, the whistleblower said she and a colleague, who was detailed to Treasury from the intelligence community, became convinced that the surveillance of Flynn was not tied to legitimate criminal or national security concerns, but was straight-up political surveillance among other illegal activity occurring at Treasury.
“When I showed it to her, what she said, ‘Oh, sh%t!’ and I knew right then and there that I was right – this was some shady stuff,” the whistleblower said.
“It wasn’t just him,” the whistleblower said. “They were targeting other U.S. citizens, as well.”

‘El Chapo’ enforcer ‘El Chino Antrax’ found murdered in Mexico
A former top enforcer for Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman’s cartel who vanished from federal parole supervision in San Diego was found murdered in Mexico alongside his sister and brother-in-law, officials said.
The bodies of Jose Rodrigo Arechiga Gamboa — known as “El Chino Antrax,” or “the Chinese Anthrax” — his sister Ada Jimena Arechiga Gamboa, and her husband, Juan Garcia, were discovered in Ada’s BMW Saturday, abandoned on a dirt road in Culiacán, Sinaloa, The San Diego Union-Tribune reported.
All three were found wrapped in blankets, according to the Associated Press.
When the bodies were first discovered, a leaked photograph showed a man who appeared to be Arechiga, according to the Union-Tribune.
The Sinaloa state prosecutors’ office identified him as José Rodrigo “A,” providing only his last initial, as Mexican law dictates.

City councilman in Kansas town charged with child sex crimes
A first-year city councilman in a Kansas town is facing accusations of child sex crimes, according to reports.
Burrton City Councilman Justin R. Freeman, 39, was arrested Monday by the Harvey County Sheriff’s Office on suspicion of aggravated indecent liberties with a child, the Wichita Eagle reports.
Freeman was later charged with six counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child, a county spokesperson told the newspaper.
Authorities are treating the allegations facing Freeman with “utmost seriousness,” Burrton Mayor Rodney Redinger said in a statement.
“We will work with the Sheriff’s Office in any way we can to aid their investigation,” Redinger said. “Right now, our priority is to offer support, and our thoughts, and our prayers, for those involved.”
Freeman was taken into custody at the Harvey County Detention Center, where his bond was set at $750,000, the Kansan reports.

More than 977 gallons of liquid methylfentanyl seized in Asia's biggest drug bust
Anti-narcotics police in northeast Myanmar seized more than 977 gallons of liquid methylfentanyl, a haul the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime described as Asia's biggest drug bust.
The seizures announced Monday were part of a two-month operation conducted by police and military. It is the first time the synthetic opioid has been found in Asia's Golden Triangle, the area where the borders of Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar meet at the junction of the Ruak and Mekong rivers.
Also seized were 193 million methamphetamine tablets known as yaba, roughly 43,000 gallons and 78,000 pounds of precursor chemicals, and a little more than 1,000 pounds of crystal methamphetamine.
Although the opioid epidemic has yet to impact Asia, Europe, or Australia as severely as the United States and Canada, officials said this latest drug seizure is indicative of an emerging threat.

On this day, T.E. Lawrence, father of Unconventional Warfare, dies in motorcycle accident
If you aspire to become a member of the Special Operations Forces community, then the name T.E. Lawrence should be one you become intimately familiar with. Commonly known as Lawrence of Arabia, he was one of the most fascinating characters of the 20th century.
Lawrence was an accomplished archaeologist, British military officer, a foreign diplomat as well as a writer. During World War I, he was a British officer who helped raise a guerrilla army known as the Arab uprising against the Ottoman Turkish Empire during the Sinai and Palestine Campaigns.
He later chronicled his story of the revolt in his book, “The Seven Pillars of Wisdom” and wrote for Encyclopedia Britannica an article on Guerrilla Warfare for the 14th Edition in 1929. He used his time fighting the Turks during the war as the basis for it.
Lawrence died in 1935 as a result of a motorcycle accident in England.
