Japan's exports plunge in April
Japan's exports tumbled in April as the pandemic continues to affect global demand. The drop was the biggest in 10 and a half years.
Data released by the Finance ministry on Thursday shows overall Japanese exports plunged by 21.9 percent compared to the same month last year. US and European-bound shipments, especially cars, contributed to the slump. Overall Japanese imports slipped as well declining 7.2 percent. As a result, Japan's trade balance fell into the red for the first time in three months.
