Illinois (ECWd) –
While we await a copy of the transcript from today’s TRO hearing in Clay County on behalf of James Mainer, we believe the entire state should know the position of the Governor as it relates to his authority.
During the presentations on the Governor’s proclamation, it was the Attorney General’s position, speaking for the Governor, that he can issue ongoing proclamations for the current disaster.
Paraphrasing the Judge’s question:
Judge: Hypothetical, can the Governor issue a 4th proclamation of a disaster and deem it does not end until all are vaccinated?
Governor’s Attorney – Yes, he has that authority.
When that response was spoken you could here the large mass of air sucking into the lungs of everyone present.
Check back for the transcript as this judge provides some very clear thinking that we are sure most everyone in the state will agree with.
A few examples, which are not exact quotes as the Judge rattled them off so fast I could not keep up. Again, when we get the transcript you will enjoy the reading.
You can drive to the golf course with four people in the car but you can’t golf together.
You can go buy pot but you can’t go to the local mom and pop store to buy something.
You can’t get COVID at Walmart but you can at Church.
The Judge made it clear, ‘the Governor is not Governing, he is ruling and the last time that happened a shot was fired and a new nation was born.’
