Anons, on this day we remember those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice for the freedom given to us through our Constitution. Most places in America gather in memorium to a fireworks show.
This anon's father, who had completed multiple tours of duty in a warzone, does not view the fireworks due to their 'boom'. Those sounds bring back the mortar shell sounds that had taken out many of his fellow soldiers.
In this age of technology, celebrations should also move forward to show respect and sensitivity to those that were in the midst of battle, seeing their friends lose their lives in the percieved pursuit of freedom.
Last week, in Pennsylvania, a group of drones were deployed over a hospital, showing a lightshow only comparable to fireworks. This show was near-silent, and had many different designs and messages to the audience.
Instead of remembering those that we lost with explosives, we can give them a calming memorial display with drones. The money it costs for the drones will be offset by repeated shows. Let's go for it, and update our respectful memorials for those that avoid the booms.
