Lawfags lurking

THere is a lot of hyperventilating on Twitter about Minneapolis disbanding their police force.

However, I check and Hennepin County has a Sheriff.

Where I live (and most of the country) has elected Sheriffs.

Law and Order would now fall under the Sheriff of Hennepin County.

Which doesn't report to the CIty Council.

Any idea on the legal strategy for the Sheriff's office there?

I assumed Sheriff's reported to the Governors. But some states are different.
