Anybody here ever see EBDIC? This isn't EBDIC, (EBDIC uses punched holes as glyph substitution to permit machine reading of paper or aluminized mylar tapes) but start there for the concept.
Morse DOES use three characters … dot, dash, pause. But this isn't straight Morse.
EBDIC uses TWO states, punched and un-punched, so this COULD be thought of as a paper tape that has been folded lengthwise. So try "unfolding" it.
These are SHORT messages in an unknown language on an unknown topic … and that makes them a BITCH to decode.
Consider this a job offer. My GUESS is that if you can unlock the door, you can walk in. This ALSO sorts the dedicated autists from the dilettantes.
If you solve the code, don't post the solution here, but make an encoded reply to Gen. Flynn through any open channel or, and this is a real possibility, the code itself may direct you to the reply box. If you post the solution, you force a change in the code if the hiring order is for more than one.
It's possible that it's merely random noise. In that case, you've solved the code when you can prove that it's noise.
