It's the magic of wording, wearing a mask will not cut off or reduce oxygen intake, but what it does is increases the bodies "re-breathing" of Carbon dioxide. Firefighters breathing bottled air, not oxygen, show that even with a continual supply of "fresh" air, their Oxygen saturation drops. I know this from 25 years in the service, and have seen the studies done on this.
