Civil war wasn’t about slavery, that was the excuse after the black Africans sold there own brethren into American slavery. Human trafficking for currency. The same as all races are doing to this very day. It’s called greed and the evil are participants.

But the civil war was about bankruptcy. The government needed funding from the London banking cartel. The north had the industry, the south had the farming. There was nothing in the north for collateral, business were already leveraged against the banks to the hilt as industry boomed. So they went after the farming lands of the south for collateral and the southern states were not willing to allow the government to leverage their real estate. In the end, they used slavery as the cover up.
