Ex-Reddit CEO: ‘We Knew About Ghislaine Maxwell Supplying Teens’ for Epstein in 2011

Accusations of sex trafficking against Ghislaine Maxwell have been around for a decade, but she remained a fixture on the American social scene until vanishing from the spotlight by the mid-2010s. The British media heiress finally faced charges last week, and is expected to seek a plea deal.

Tech investor Ellen Pao has recalled attending a top-tier party with Ghislaine Maxwell despite knowing about claims of sexual exploitation brought against her by Jeffrey Epstein’s alleged victims.

Pao, who served as Reddit’s chief executive for eight months in 2014 and 2015, said she saw Maxwell at an exсlusive 2011 Chrstmas party for Silicon Valley investors organised by venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins.

“I had no desire to meet her much less have a photo taken with her,” Pao tweeted on Monday, “We knew about her supplying underage girls for sex, but I guess that was fine with the ‘cool’ people who managed the tightly controlled guest list.”

According to a 2011 report by Business Insider, the party took place at the posh Menlo Circus Club, one of the Silicon Valley’s top country clubs. Among the guests were former Vice President and 2000 presidential candidate Al Gore, former Twitter vice president for engineering Mike Abbott, then-HP chairman Ray Lane, former MySpace CEO Owen Van Natta, and other big honchos in tech and venture capital.

I know, it's been comin' for some time

It'll rain a sunny day

I know, shinin' down like water

I want to know, have you ever seen the rain?

Rep. Jim Jordan Calls Out Twitter’s “Extremely Alarming” Censorship of Trump, Asks For Documents Of Decision On Crackdown

Republican Representative Jim Jordan, ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee, is calling on Twitter to release documents regarding its recent crackdown on President Trump’s tweets.

Jordan accused the tech giant of increasingly exerting “editorial control” over prominent conservatives, including the president, and how it “has not taken similar actions” with prominent liberals, which the congressman says questioned whether Twitter “is not moderating user content in a viewpoint-neutral manner,” according to Fox News.

US & Russia not enemies despite existing disagreements – Russian ambassador

The United States and Russia are not enemies and cannot afford to stop talking to one another, Russian Ambassador to the US Anatoly Antonov has said. Speaking on Russia-US relations during a video conference organized by the Washington-based Center for the National Interest on Wednesday, he said: “There is an ongoing debate on who is more at fault for their current deplorable state.”

“There are contrasting views on who should take the first step towards the other side,” the diplomat noted. Currently, this process “resembles walking in a circle without any clear perspective of finding common ground,” he said.

“On many occasions, I had to persuade the American public that Russia and the US are not enemies. And that we cannot afford the luxury of not talking to each other, despite all the existing disagreements,” TASS quoted Antonov as saying.

For objective reasons, “the well-being of the whole planet depends on the quality of Russia-US relations,” he added.

It begins: Lawsuits begin to pile up for Seattle mayor and Washington governor over CHOP

SEATTLE, WA – The lawsuits are starting to pile up for both Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan and Washington Gov. Jay Inslee over their handling of the Capitol Hill Occupied Protest (CHOP) zone in downtown Seattle, the site of two recent fatal shootings.

Washington attorney Jacob Bozeman recently filed a suit against Durkan and Inslee, both Democrats, over CHOP, part of a Seattle neighborhood where protesters calling for racial justice have tried to create a police-free zone, according to Fox Business.

Not only does Bozeman say the city allowed it, he claims they helped create it by installing barricades and bathrooms. He told KIRO 7:

“To abdicate the authority to an unelected, unauthorized and armed group of people to decide who can come and go, who can be searched and seized, and under what portions of the city you can come and go from, for fear of physical retaliation against you, is unconstitutional.”

Harvard, MIT sue US for ‘dangerous’ move to banish online-only foreign students

‘The effect – and perhaps even the goal – is to create as much chaos for universities and international students as possible,’ the lawsuit says

The Trump administration has issued an order barring foreign students from remaining in the US if their schools are not holding in-person classes this fall

Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology are challenging a Trump administration policy that would bar foreign students from remaining in the United States if their universities are not holding in-person classes this fall.

Without naming China specifically in a lawsuit filed in federal court on Wednesday, the schools said the sudden rescission of international students’ ability to remain in the US while they take an online-only curriculum – an allowance granted as Covid-19 began spreading – was, among other things, “dangerous”.

Mark Levin: Supreme Court Just Opened Itself Up to Grand Jury Demands for Individual Justices’ Tax Returns

On Thursday the Supreme Court ruled a grand jury in Manhattan can subpoena President Trump’s tax returns in their ongoing witch hunt against the president.

Mark Levin blasted the decision and warned the SCOTUS judges that Congress can now subpoena their tax returns!

2. I can see a situation in which the House or the Senate decides that it must have access to all of the justices’ tax and financial records each year to determine if they’re influences in any way to write the decisions they write or vote the way they vote on numerous cases.

Hawaii: New Bill Would Give Health Director Power to Call a Health Emergency and Impose Quarantines

The Hawaii Senate voted 20-4 in favor of House Bill 2502 that would give the director of the State Department of Health the power to declare a health emergency if authorized by the governor. The governor already has the power to declare a health emergency, and critics of this bill say that it gives too much power to a state official who is not elected.

If the bill is made into law, the director would be allowed to require screening, testing, contact tracing, quarantine, and isolation of people deemed by the department to be infected, at higher risk of infection, or at risk of spreading infection. The measure now heads to the House.

Monday, the Hawaii Senate voted 20-4 in favor of the controversial House Bill 2502 that would give more power to the director of the State Department of Health (DOH).

The measure would allow the health director to declare a public health emergency if authorized by the governor.

Under an emergency, the director would be allowed to require screening, testing, contact tracing, quarantine, and isolation of people deemed by the department to be infected, at higher risk of infection, or at risk of spreading infection.

Western spies are failing against Russia and China: time for a spycraft revolution

Western models of spycraft are failing. Traditional models of spycraft seek to inform decision-making based on predictive analysis, but this is no longer effective in today’s environment. By nature, closed and authoritarian regimes, such as Russia and China, have an easier job of spying on their more progressive and open adversaries — the United States and the West — and currently possess the advantage. What follows is the author’s abridged philosophy of intelligence on this revolution in spycraft.

Last year, Foreign Policy magazine introduced a provocative thought piece highlighting the ongoing revolution in espionage: namely, that intelligence agencies must adapt (or die) to disruptive changes in politics, business, and technology.

At the risk of irrelevance, Western intelligence agencies are learning that traditional models of spying are outdated and losing out to more nimble, collaborative, and less fragile adversaries. As the article adeptly notes, “the balance of power in the spy world is shifting: closed societies now have the edge over open ones. It has become harder for Western countries to spy on places such as China, Iran, and Russia and easier for those countries’ intelligence services to spy on the rest of the world.”

Circumstances such as unprecedented levels of legislative and judicial scrutiny, technological advances in mobile phones and electronic data, public skepticism of domestic and international intelligence activities, and general political scrutiny in liberal democracies are symptomatic of such difficulties. They represent an underlying revolution that is significantly disrupting traditional notions of Western spycraft.
