Good morning anons Flipped on the boob tube last night to an episode of "Unexplained Mysteries", and William Shatner was narrating a segment on this Superior Universal Light cult in Brazil late '80's, early '90's. I was in the service around that time and must have missed this one never heard of it until now, but these things are nothing new…at all.

Satanic Cult Killings Spread Fear in Brazil

GUARATUBA, Brazil (AP) - It was 7 p.m., the killing hour.
Evandro Caetano, 6 years old, lay gagged and bound to a
wooden table in the dank sawmill. Outside, devil worshipers prepared an altar for the sacrifice. Osvaldo Marcineiro, the cult's "high priest," who later revealed the details of the secret ritual in a videotaped confession, nodded to his followers.
Inside the mill, seven masked figures in red and black circled Evandro. The black-and-white candles they held filled the room with light. Marcineiro recalled that the boy wriggled and tried to scream.
As the cult leader chanted softly, two women pinned Evandro's arms. A man gripped his throat, squeezing until the boy went limp. Another apostle slit Evandro's throat with a kitchen knife and collected his blood in a bowl. With a hand saw, Marcineiro cut off the hands, ears, toes and genitals, then removed the eyes, heart, liver and intestines. Cult members knelt before the altar outside, took turns sipping from the bowl and offered the heart to Exu, their devil.
Afterward, the women wrapped the remains in a bedsheet, tossed the bundle into the trunk of a car and drove into the woods. Seven people are under arrest, including the wife and daughter of Guaratuba's mayor, awaiting trial on charges of kidnapping and murder.
About 90 million of Brazil's 150 million people follow voodoo-style cults, which generally are lumped under the term macumba and descend from Yoruba and Bantu religions brought to Brazil by African slaves.
