Consider Pershing Square to be replaced by a grand entrance to the White House, The Pennsylvania Avenue Gate. Four or Five gates around the grounds, including onto The Ellipse from the Mall, would provide more of a sense of an event for visitors. Reframing The Ellipse and Lafayette Square as White House grounds, would mean daytime tourists could say they were on the White House grounds while visiting those parks – when they weren’t being used for White House events.

Consider a monumental outdoor pavilion on the expanded grounds, but out of frame of the central view from the Mall, the Ellipse or Lafayette Square. Twenty feet until the first beam, complicated gabled copper roof. Sequoia columns. Something to celebrate western and southern state culture. A great rock wall could be constructed facing the exterior of the grounds that could have a relief sculpture on both sides, or have a huge fireplace on the interior.

While not EO approved styles, a large banqueting space designed in either Beaux Arts or modified Romanesque Revival could be constructed on the grounds opposite an open air pavilion, with the main entrance from the exterior of the grounds. A flamboyant entrance but muted design facing the interior White House grounds, so as not to overshadow the Executive Mansion. The large hall could be used for state dinners, other events and be a gallery when not in use for the Smithsonian art collection or interior sculptures. A banquet hall and event center for the White House and a museum for tourists.

Consider using the real estate beneath any new buildings, as it is wasted otherwise. A tennis court, a pool, office space, smaller banquet halls, etc.

Each new venue can have statues or a collection of them that rotates over time or for historical anniversaries. The venues themselves can have general themes. Modularize the grounds into themed venues, while maintain northern and southern views of the White House. Many tribute statues to fill bitchy ethnic quotas could be indoor statues under a pavilion or inside a new banquet hall.

Try and find at least one Mexican-American to include to shut everyone up. Set aside space specifically for military ceremonies and sculptures.

Please don’t line up a bunch of statues in rows like a cemetery or soviet statue junk yard.

A heroic New York City emergency room doctor was driven to suicide in the depths of the coronavirus crisis, her family says — and the relentless strain of modern medicine, which rewards perfection and disdains weakness, is to blame.

“If the culture had been different, that thought would have never even occurred to her, which is why I need to change the culture,” Jennifer Feist said of her sister, Dr. Lorna Breen.

Breen, 49, killed herself April 26, while medical director of the emergency department at NewYork-Presbyterian Allen Hospital in Upper Manhattan, located in a low-income community that was especially hard hit by COVID-19.

“She had something that was a little bit different, and that was this optimism that her persistent efforts will save lives,” colleague and friend Dr. Barbara Lock told The Times.

As coronavirus cases in New York began to multiply out of control this spring, leaving patients in her emergency room to be treated in hallways and bodies of victims to be stored in an X-ray room, Breen turned to her Bible study group for comfort.

“People I work with are so confused by all of the mixed messages and constantly changing instructions,” she wrote them on March 14.

A few days later Breen fell ill with the virus herself. She quarantined at home — but felt guilty for the fever and exhaustion that kept her away from her work.

When she returned, she wrote a friend, she felt “baffled and overwhelmed.”

“I’m drowning right now,” she texted her prayer group.

Agencies can fire political appointees who skirt civil service laws when converting their statuses into career employees in the run up to a presidential transition, a federal court has ruled.

The ever-controversial practice known as burrowing is legal, but must follow a strict set of procedures to ensure political appointees are qualified for the career jobs for which they are hired. In the fall of 2016, Edward Avalos, then the Agriculture Department's undersecretary for marketing and regulator programs, left his job for a GS-15 career position as the Housing and Urban Development Department’s Albuquerque field office director. Avalos was hired by Tammye Treviño, an appointee at HUD who formerly served with Avalos as a USDA appointee.

The first posting for the field office vacancy yielded one certificate eligible candidate, a preference-eligible veteran. Instead of asking the Office of Personnel Management for a waiver to pass over that candidate, Treviño revised the vacancy announcement and Avalos reapplied. On second effort, Avalos was the only applicant to be deemed eligible. HUD did not ask OPM permission for Avalos’ hiring, as is required in cases of burrowing in. When OPM flagged the improper hiring in 2017, HUD reviewed it and deemed it could not certify it “met merit and fitness requirements” due to Treviño’s involvement.

HUD fired Avalos, who then appealed the decision to the Merit Systems Protection Board and again to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

First Federal Execution In 17 Years Halted On Coronavirus Fears

A year ago the Department of Justice announced for the first time in nearly two decades the resumption of capital punishment in federal cases, with Attorney General William Barr announcing the process for the execution of five death-row in mates is set to move forward, marking the first federal executions since 2003.

The first federal execution in 17 years was to take place on Monday of this next week prior to a federal judge in Indiana halting it. 47-year old Daniel Lee is to die by lethal injection for the 1996 slaying of a family — William Mueller, his wife, Nancy, and her 8-year-old daughter, Sarah Powell.

But Chief District Judge Jane Magnus-Stinson in an unusual ruling has halted the scheduled execution on coronavirus fears. She cited that the families of the victims are too afraid of traveling during the pandemic, as well as the potential risk to elderly family members at the site of the execution given that COVID-19 has especially ravaged prisons and correctional facilities.

The family of the victims filed a lawsuit on Tuesday to get the execution date pushed back:

Earlene Peterson, the mother of Nancy Mueller and grandmother of 8-year-old Sarah Powell, two of the three brutally murdered in 1996, says the coronavirus poses too much of a travel threat for her to leave her home in Hector to go to Indiana.

Right now, Lee is set to be put to death Monday at the federal prison in Terre Haute, but the lawsuit filed Tuesday could change that.

In it, Peterson’s attorney sites multiple health conditions of different family members that could be lethal if one of them contracts coronavirus while traveling to the execution.

Upon the delay, the Justice Department said it would be appealing Magnus-Stinson's ruling to the 7th US Circuit Court of Appeals.

Two more executions are scheduled at Terre Haute for next week as it's the only federal prison to have an active death chamber. The judge's ruling in the Lee execution does not impact these.

The men awaiting federal death sentences were involved in heinous crimes involving deaths of families and children: "In January 1996, Lee and his accomplice, Chevie Kehoe, burglarized Mueller's house in Tilly and waited for him and his wife and stepdaughter to come home. Lee and Kehoe used a stun rod to incapacitate the victims before taping plastic bags over their heads to asphyxiate them, authorities said."

Prior to stopping federal execution cases in 2003, perhaps the more notorious criminal to be put to death was Timothy McVeigh in 2001, for killing 168 people in the Oklahoma City bombing, and further recent death row cases awaiting execution include Dzhokhar Tsarnaev in 2015 for the Boston Marathon bombing, and white supremacist Dylann Roof in 2017 for the Charleston church shooting.

Lakeshore’s United Visionaries host community meeting in Manitowoc

MANITOWOC, Wis. (WBAY) - A fairly new group in Manitowoc wants to recognize and promote diversity in the area. It held a meeting Saturday to hear ideas from community members on ways that goal can be achieved.

Lakeshore’s United Visionaries (L.U.V.) is a group that began about a month ago, inspired by the movement for racial equality and change that’s been taking place across the country.

“We’re still kind of finding our footing but we’re getting a lot of really good feedback in the community and putting events together and bringing people together as much as we can in the current climate,” said Kevin Sievert, who runs the group’s social media pages.

“Just trying to make a change in the community for the better,” said Sam Gretz, who is involved with the group’s education efforts.

This weekend L.U.V. hoped the community meeting would bring more ideas on what actions they can take to bring the people together.

“Our community is maybe not as diverse as communities in larger cities so this is also a really nice way for us to bring our community together so that we can all ask questions and learn from each other,” said Sievert.

“I think it’s important to get feedback from the people that you’re trying to touch and trying to make a change with,” said Gretz.

Several people attended to share their thoughts. Some discussed books and other educational tools they’ve been using to educate themselves on racism. Others encouraged L.U.V. members to attend city and county government meetings to push more representatives in the area to get involved.

“This can be a tough topic to approach and not everybody is willing to do so,” said Gretz. “So it’s really good to see so many people are willing to.”

But L.U.V. members hope they can keep these conversations going and create a lasting impact.

“We want to be a part of the fabric of the Lakeshore in the future just by creating community events and keeping people together and keeping the diversity of our community up in the forefront of what we do,” said Sievert.

What is the /comms/ Bakers Union?

A group of namefag bakers that have been nearly exclusively controlling every bake (and every notable) on qresearch for many many months. 'Union' because they only allow one another to bake. To control that they require verified off-board accounts be presented like a union card, like qanonbin.com, created by a baker that namefags as 'newsbaker' because he also created the notables aggregator wearethene.ws. It is connecting the code for qanonbin.com to Ron Cabrera Jr. that exposes 'newsbaker' and his 'frens' Nightbaker, gyb, wake-n-baker, doc strange, tex baker, d2l and others as being associated with lefty, Antifa, Chinese subversives pretending to be MAGA. The board >>>/comms/ is where they pretend to plan, but the updated discord code that reposts Q's posts on discord is strong evidence that they are primarily communicating on discord. >>>/comms/ is just the show. This group solely imposes itself on Anons for their own ends, Anons get NOTHING out of the deal that can't be dealt with otherwise. This is a huge gatekeeping operation that has burned a lot of good Anons and the cancer has to go.
