Not only did the controversial Ukrainian energy firm get a deal with USAID while Hunter Biden was on the board, but Joe Biden's energy advisor, Amos Hochstein, promoted the very program which worked to legitimize Burisma amid the allegations.

As an Obama official, Hochstein testified repeatedly to Congress, urging lawmakers to help "reform" Ukraine's energy sector to mitigate Putin's advances.

At an event hosted by the Atlantic Council (a think tank funded in part by Burisma), Hochstein warned that Russia's weaponization of energy deals was predictable and must be counterbalanced:

"When the gas was shut off from Russia to Ukraine on June 16th [2014], that was not a unique event. It happened in 2006 and it happened in 2009 and, therefore, it happened again in 2014. And there is no reason to believe it will not happen again," Hochstein said.

"The way to prevent it from happening again is to … [create] new infrastructures that can allow for energy, for gas and for other sources of energy to come into Europe from other places to compete with Russian supplies."

Mask or £100 fine: Boris Johnson’s government ORDERS Britons to cover up for Covid-19 after saying it wouldn’t

After cabinet minister Michael Gove said wearing masks in shops is ‘good manners’ and won’t be mandatory, Prime Minister Boris Johnson has announced that it will be, with those in England who refuse facing a £100 fine.

“The prime minister has been clear that people should be wearing face coverings in shops and we will make this mandatory from July 24,” a spokesperson for 10 Downing Street said on Monday. The measure applies to England; Scotland has already made face coverings mandatory.

“How can anyone respect this government or follow their diktats?”wondered commentator and RT columnist Neil Clark, pointing out that on Sunday, Cabinet Office Minister Gove was saying the exact opposite.

“I don’t think mandatory, no,” Gove told the BBC's Andrew Marr, adding he would “encourage” people to mask up inside, as that was “basic good manners, courtesy and consideration” in protecting others from the coronavirus.

Clark also highlighted the irony of a German supermarket chain Lidl offering the “first proper resistance to the tyrannical ‘New Normal’” by saying it won’t enforce the face mask mandate in Scotland.

The opposition Labour Party was also displeased but for different reasons, criticizing Johnson for not mandating masks when it advised in favor of wearing them back in May, and “why it'll take another 11 days before these new guidelines come into force,” according to the party’s health spokesman Jonathan Ashworth.

Labour leader Keir Starmer has criticized Johnson’s coronavirus response as “slow,” saying that the PM is “good on the rhetoric but he is not good on governing.” Starmer said there will inevitably be an inquiry into Downing Street’s handling of the pandemic.

The chair of London’s Met Police Federation has hit out at UK government plans to make the wearing of face masks mandatory in shops, insisting it’s farcical that officers may end up driving round the capital looking for offenders.

During an interview with BBC Radio 4’s Today program on Tuesday, Ken Marsh – who represents police officers in the UK capital – claimed it would be “nigh-on impossible” to enforce the new requirement on face masks, due to come into law in England on July 24. Federal judge permanently blocks Georgia’s pro-life ​‘heartbeat’ law — Gov. Kemp vows an appeal is coming

The judge says it is unconstitutional

A federal judge on Monday permanently blocked Georgia's 2019 pro-life "heartbeat" law, which prohibits abortions after a fetal heartbeat is detected, ruling that it violates the Constitution.

U.S. District Judge Steven Jones, who also temporarily blocked the law in October of last year, ruled against the state in a lawsuit filed by abortion providers and advocates. The new ruling permanently bars the state from ever enforcing the law.

The legislation passed both chambers and was signed into law by Republican Gov. Brian Kemp last March despite a massive opposition effort by Hollywood liberals. It effectively declared abortion procedures illegal after a "detectable human heartbeat exists," with some exceptions. A heartbeat can be detected as early as six weeks into a pregnancy.

Under current Georgia law, abortions are prohibited after 20 weeks of gestation, or roughly 22 weeks of pregnancy, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

In agreement with Roe v. Wade, Jones ruled that the Georgia law would burden a woman's 14th Amendment "right to privacy" and agreed with the abortion advocates' argument that the law sought solely to ban abortions and not "promote fetal well-being."

"The court rejects the state defendants' argument that the statutory purpose solely concerns 'promoting fetal well-being,'" the judge wrote. "Instead, HB 481's specific references to Roe v. Wade and 'established abortion related precedents' … lends support to plaintiffs' argument that the purpose of H.B. 481 was to ban or de facto ban abortion."

Following the ruling, Gov. Kemp immediately vowed to issue an appeal.

Lead plaintiff SisterSong, an organization which fights pro-life laws on behalf of women of color, called the ruling a "huge win for bodily autonomy."

"This win is tremendous, and it is also makes a very bold statement," executive director Monica Simpson said in a statement. "No one should have to live in a world where their bodies and reproductive decision making is controlled by the state. And we will continue to work to make sure that is never a reality in Georgia or anywhere else."

Similar laws have also been passed in other states, such as Ohio and Kentucky, only to be struck down at the federal level by judges.

It is unclear whether a Supreme Court appeal will uphold the law, as the nation's high court recently ruled against a Louisiana law that would have restricted abortion access in that state.

As Wayfair Conspiracy Distracted, US Gov’t Gave $200 Million to Churches Paying for Child Raping Priests

Over the past week, a conspiracy theory about Wayfair selling children in cabinets took the internet by storm. Sadly, without giving it much thought, people took this unfounded claim and ran with it — distracting from actual, provable conspiracies. Selling expensive cabinets and shower curtains online does not mean one is trafficking children. What’s more, with the dark web available, who in their right mind would openly sell children — to the public — on the internet in storage cabinets. There is definitely something fishy going on with the $10,000 shower curtains — but it probably has more to do with a money laundering scheme, an internet joke by someone inside Wayfair, or something else besides openly selling children online. In the meantime, as Wayfair filled the digital airwaves, your taxpayer dollars went to bailing out churches, dozens of which covered up real and provable child sex abuse for decades, and barely anyone noticed.

Despite being tax exempt — meaning they are not required to pay the same taxes other businesses must — the Catholic church has received more than $1.4 billion in taxpayer-backed coronavirus aid. According to a scathing report out of the Associated Press, the total payout could be as high as $3.5 billion, making this tax exempt organization one of the largest recipients in the country of the taxpayer-funded pandemic bail out.

Adding to the already corrupt nature of a tax-exempt organization received billions in taxpayer funds is the fact that according to the analysis of federal data, hundreds of millions of dollars are “going to dioceses that have paid huge settlements or sought bankruptcy protection because of clergy sexual abuse cover-ups.”

Because they do not pay taxes, institutions of faith are not usually eligible for programs such as these. However, the Catholic Church’s lobbying efforts were unprecedented, according to the report. They lobbied for an exemption to federal rules and amassed what could amount to nearly 4 billion dollars.

Typically, because the church has over 500 employees, they are disqualified from applying for this SBA bailout. However, as small businesses failed to receive minuscule loans for tens of thousands of dollars to keep their doors open, one of the richest organizations in the world persuaded this administration to grant them a waiver for the 500 employee cap.

“The abuse scarred every diocese,” he said. “The cover-up was sophisticated. The church protected the institution at all costs.”

White House Leakers Beware; Mark Meadows Has Been Setting Traps

The Trump administration has been plagued with leaks from establishment loyalists - enemies of the administration who feel its their duty to undermine Trump's agenda. One swamp operative even penned a book, "A Warning" penned by "Anonymous," who claimed "many of the senior officials in [Trump's] own administration are working diligently from within to frustrate parts of his agenda and his worst inclinations."

This traitorous behavior often takes place in the form of anonymous leaks to various MSM outlets in order to harm the duly elected sitting US president.

Tracking down the leakers has been assigned to Trump's Chief of Staff, Mark Meadows, who joined the Trump administration on March 31, 2020 after serving as the ranking Republican on the House Oversight Committee.

According to Axios, Meadows has notified multiple White House staffers that he's been feeding certain information to specific people to see what gets passed on to reporters.

"Meadows told me he was doing that," one former White House official told Axios. "I don't know if it ever worked."

According to the report, White House staffers are now on edge, "with multiple officials telling Axios that Meadows has been unusually vocal about his tactics."

So far Meadows' efforts have produced one minor leaker.

Trump is especially furious about two recent leaks of classified and sensitive information.

As Politico first reported, the administration has interviewed people with access to the intelligence that the Russians were paying the Taliban bounties to kill American soldiers. A senior White House official confirmed Politico's reporting that they have narrowed down the list of suspects to fewer than 10 people.

Trump was also enraged when the New York Times reported that the Secret Service rushed him down to the bunker during the protests outside the White House.

So far, Meadows has yet to deliver on either of these high-priority leak hunts. A source familiar with Meadows' thinking said he is "focused on national security leaks and could care less about the palace intrigue stories."

On a recent podcast with Ted Cruz, however, Meadows said they tracked down and fired a federal employee who leaked information about a White House social media executive order.

Trump's previous chiefs of staff were unable (at best) to plug leaks over the last three and a half years - none more so than Mick Mulvaney, who "never netted the sort of catch Trump wanted," according to the report. One former White House official, however, said that the 'one time' Mulvaney did present damning evidence to Trump, the president dismissed it.

FOX 35 Investigation Reveals Inflated Florida Coronavirus Numbers

A FOX 35 investigation released on Monday discovered an inflation of coronavirus cases by the Florida Department of Health. The Sunshine State’s health authorities misreported the number of persons testing positive for coronavirus in its aggregation and publication of test results from laboratories.

FOX 35 anchor Charles Billi explained the impetus for the investigation. He said, “We found numerous labs that are only reporting positive test results, so they show a 100-percent positivity rate. That got our attention.”

According to the latest publication of statewide test results from the Florida Department of Health, published on Friday, several testing facilities’ positivity rates for coronavirus tests were 27.66, 33.33, 37.10, 40, 43.13, 44.44, 50, 55, 57.14, 59.23, 60, 87.5, 91.18, and 100.

Twenty-two labs reported 100-percent positivity rates. Two labs reported 91.18-percent positivity rates.

The Florida Department of Health’s stated positivity rates and associated volume of coronavirus cases does not match claims made by the testing facilities, reported FOX 35:

Countless labs have reported a 100 percent positivity rate, which means every single person tested was positive. Other labs had very high positivity rates. FOX 35 found that testing sites like Centra Care reported that 83 people were tested and all tested positive. Then, NCF Diagnostics in Alachua reported 88 percent of tests were positive.

How could that be? FOX 35 News investigated these astronomical numbers, contacting every local location mentioned in the report.

The report showed that Orlando Health had a 98 percent positivity rate. However, when FOX 35 News contacted the hospital, they confirmed errors in the report. Orlando Health’s positivity rate is only 9.4 percent, not 98 percent as in the report.

“The report also showed that the Orlando Veteran’s Medical Center had a positivity rate of 76 percent,” added FOX 35. “A spokesperson for the VA told FOX 35 News on Tuesday that this does not reflect their numbers and that the positivity rate for the center is actually 6 percent.”

Democrat Funded ‘News Outlet’ CourierNewsroom Floods Facebook with Election Ads

A purported news outlet funded by a Democrat-aligned nonprofit is flooding Facebook with millions of dollars in ad spending ahead of the 2020 election, without disclosing any of its political donors, according to a report in Politico.

In its report, even left-leaning Politico admits that the advertising blitz is “blurring the lines between campaign advocacy and a newsroom.”

The articles and Facebook ad dollars look like the efforts of a run-of-the-mill political group. But they are actually from a news outlet: CourierNewsroom.com, also known as Courier, which was created and funded by the Democratic-aligned digital organization Acronym. Courier has spent over $1.4 million on Facebook ads this election cycle, mostly to promote its flattering articles and videos about more than a dozen endangered House Democrats at the top of the Democratic Party’s priority list this November, according to Facebook’s political ad tracker.

But because Courier is organized as a media outlet, it does not have to disclose its donors or the total money it spends promoting Democratic politicians.

The effort is linked to Reid Hoffman, the Linkedin cofounder who infamously funded a social media misinformation campaign, complete with Twitter bots posing as Russian agents, during the 2017 Alabama runoff election.

After apologizing for that episode, saying he was “embarrassed” by it, it appears Hoffman is back in the business of social media manipulation.

And in setting up the enterprise, Acronym — which is financed by some of the deepest pockets in progressive politics, such as liberal billionaires Reid Hoffman, the co-founder of LinkedIn, and Laurene Powell Jobs, the majority owner of The Atlantic — has stirred outrage and provoked debate about the ethics of such political tactics and the future of the press.

Democrats and the Biden campaign are at the forefront of efforts to pressure Facebook into clamping down on “misinformation” which in their view includes banning Trump ads. The practice of using a “news organization” propped up by a Democrat nonprofit to flood the platform with ads in favor of Democrat political candidates creates a major conflict with this message.

$15M in Cocaine Seized in Single Texas Border Bust

On July 12 at approximately 4:00pm, a Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper was conducting a routine patrol in Rio Grande City when a drawbridge camera system detected a smuggling event near Midway Cemetery. This area is well known for drug trafficking and human smuggling by the Gulf Cartel.

The camera detected a 2000 Chevrolet extended cab pickup. The Trooper responded to the area and observed the same vehicle. The Trooper initiated a traffic stop and the vehicle fled east on Highway 83. The pursuit ended after the vehicle crashed at Papalote and El Campo Roads. The driver exited the vehicle and successfully fled the area on foot. The vehicle was found to be reportedly concealing approximately 453 pounds of cocaine valued at $14,496,000.

The drawbridge cameras possess enhanced motion detection and low light capabilities, which have been modified for law enforcement needs. Operation Drawbridge uses hundreds of cameras along the border.

Detection alerts are sent simultaneously to the Border Patrol, sheriffs, the Fusion Center, and other border law enforcement partners under the operation of Texas DPS Information Technology (IT) personnel.

Since the inception of the program through the end of January 2019, Operation Drawbridge reportedly detected more than 450,000 criminal exploitations of the Texas-Mexico border and has directly resulted in the apprehension of more than 250,000 individuals. It is also credited for the seizure of more than 248 tons of marijuana.

Narco-Terrorist on Most Wanted List Captured in Mexican Border State

PIEDRAS NEGRAS, Coahuila – State investigators arrested a cartel gunman officially identified as taking part in a terror attack that killed 23 as more than 150 shooters stormed a rural town and tried to burn city hall. The gunman was on an international wanted list targeting key cartel figures.

The arrest took place last week in Coahuila when Jorge Manuel “N” was charged for the kidnapping of a local police officer during a November 2019 terror attack in Villa Union. Authorities moved Jorge Manuel to a detention center in Saltillo where he will await trial. Coahuila Attorney General Gerardo Marquez Guevara in a prepared statement to Breitbart Texas confirms authorities arrested and charged 11 suspects for the attack.

On November 30, 2019, a group of approximately 150 gunmen from the Cartel Del Noreste faction of Los Zetas used dirt roads to move from Nuevo Laredo to Villa Union, where they fired at the city hall, torched police vehicles, and started a shootout that went on for hours that led to at least 17 dead gunmen, four dead police officers, two dead firefighters, and several other shooting victims. Coahuila Governor Miguel Angel Riquelme said captured gunmen explained their goal was to spread fear and intimidate the residents.

In the months after, authorities learned more about the role of Jorge Manuel and added him to a Most Wanted list between Coahuila state authorities and U.S. Customs and Border Protection called “Se Busca.” The suspect was added as the #5 fugitive. The list began in South Texas as a way to share information and has since been replicated in other border regions.

Black Lives Matter Leader Charged With Pimping Out 17-Year-Old Girl

A prominent Black Lives Matter organizer and co-founder was arrested last month and charged with human trafficking and prostitution.

Charles Wade was busted at a Howard Johnson Inn in College Park, Maryland, on April 25. Wade was living at a motel room where he allegedly pimped a 17-year-old girl, police said, according to The Daily Caller.

Wade was charged with seven counts relating to felony human trafficking and prostitution, but he he posted a $25,000 bond shortly after his arrest, according to a statement he released on Twitter Wednesday. The charges carry sentences of up to 25 years in prison and a $15,000 fine.

Charles Wade co-founded Operation Help or Hush after the August 2014 police shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo. The group claims it helps raise funds for the needy and provides food and shelter for activists, the Caller reported.

Wade denied the charges to the D.C.-based website.

Formerly a stylist for Solange Knowles, the sister of Beyonce, Wade has been featured in numerous news articles about the Black Lives Matter movement. He was also invited by the White House earlier this week to a movie screening with other Black Lives Matter activists. Wade says he did not attend the function, which was on Tuesday.

Last year, a team of Washington Post reporters, including Pulitzer Prize-winner Wesley Lowery, included Wade in a profile of Black Lives Matter activists who protested after the August 2014 shooting of Michael Brown by Ferguson, Mo. police officer Darren Wilson.

The Post piece referred to questions about Wade’s fundraising activities — which he and his group conduct mostly through Twitter — but offered a largely glowing portrayal of the activist.

Wade was arrested as part of a sting operation in which an undercover officer responded to an ad Wade allegedly placed for a 23-year-old woman on backpage.com, a website frequently used by sex traffickers and prostitutes.

“Holla at me. Quick stay specials tonight and tomorrow. Independent. Fun and sexy. Text me to set up an appointment???????” read the ad, which listed the age of the poster as 23.

Police said the woman, who turned out to be a 17-year-old girl, called Wade her manager. She said that Wade knew she was a minor but wasn’t worried because of her upcoming birthday, police said. She also told investigators that she provided all the money she earned to Wade, The Daily Caller reported.

First, why was the liberal media playing up “deaths” for months…putting daily “death counts” on the front page of newspapers…yet now that the death count has dropped dramatically, they’re using “cases” as the new metric. Are they trying to create hysteria? Do they want the economy shut down?

Second, why isn’t anyone comparing Sweden with Michigan? Sweden is a country of 10 million that never closed their economy. Not for one day, not for one minute. Everyone went about their business and lived their lives. They have 5,545 dead.

Michigan is a state of about 9.9 million. The same size as Sweden. They locked down their citizens and closed all their businesses, tighter than any state in America. They have 6,075 dead. More than Sweden.

This proves there is no need to ever shut down our economy, or lockdown the people. It doesn’t work. Period. End of story. It’s the perfect apples to apples comparison. Sweden is the winner. Michigan is the loser.

People will get sick with Covid-19 no matter what we do. But when you close the economy, the cure is worse than the disease. Not just for the people who are broke, with their businesses closed, jobs gone, lives in shambles. Government has it even worse. Every state and city government in America is now hopelessly broke and desperate.

That’s the result of just one closure that lasted only two months. If we close again, we will destroy the US economy forever.

Third, and here’s the big one. I keep asking this question, and I’m still waiting for answer. What is the difference between Covid-19 and the Hong Kong Flu of 1968-69? By every measure it appears to be a carbon copy. It’s the same flu pandemic, from the same place, with the same results- over 100,000 dead at a time when America was dramatically smaller.

Prominent attorney known for men's rights advocacy fatally shot in California

Attorney Marc Angelucci, known for his work on behalf of men's rights, was shot and killed outside his California home Saturday, according to the Palm Springs Desert Sun.

Angelucci, who was 52 years old, was found shot at around 4 p.m. in Cedarpines Park, a mountain community in San Bernardino County. No arrests have been made, and police are seeking information from the public on the shooting.

The late attorney is perhaps most widely known for his men's rights advocacy, highlighted in the 2016 documentary "The Red Pill" by Cassie Jaye.

"The more I got to know him, the more I realized he was truly an angel on Earth who only had goodness in his heart, was always honorable in the work he did, and he was really the one person that could truly enact legal change on state and federal levels on behalf of men and boys," Jaye wrote in a statement about Angelucci's death on her website. "He won so many cases that few would be willing to touch and fewer would be willing to do pro bono, but he did it because it was the right thing to do."

Angelucci was the vice president of the National Coalition for Men and the president and founder of the group's Los Angeles chapter. He was still active in fighting for men's rights in the legal system when he died. From the Desert Sun:

The group, which said Angelucci was killed at his home, said Angelucci had recently won an equal protection case against the Selective Service Administration overturning male-only draft registration. He previously won a case in California, Woods. V. Horton, that held it is unconstitutional to exclude male victims of domestic violence from state funding for victim services.

"Marc was an unbelievably generous man, living on a shoestring despite some personal health challenges so he could donate many millions of dollars of his time to mostly voluntary legal work on behalf of men's rights and the genuine gender equality that is so badly needed in this country and this world," the National Coalition for Men said in a statement.

Catholic Churches Across The Country Burned, Vandalized Over The Weekend

At least four Catholic churches in four states were vandalized over the weekend in a string of attacks that have authorities wondering whether religious icons and statues are next to be targeted by anti-racism and “anti-fascist” protesters.

Fox News reports that churches in California, New York, Massachusetts, and Florida were all targeted by vandals, and several historic churches suffered major damage in arson attacks.

“A man in Florida plowed his vehicle into the Queen of Peace Catholic Church as it was preparing for morning Mass on Saturday, poured gasoline in the foyer, and then set the building on fire before driving off, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office reports,” according to Fox.

He was later arrested and told officers that he was on a “mission” to attack the church. He later admitted to suffering from a severe mental illness.

In Los Angeles, the historic San Gabriel Church, which was about to turn 250 years old, was targeted in an arson attack. In Boston, a statue of the Virgin Mary — a monument to veterans of World War II, displayed in the courtyard of a Catholic church there — was torched and desecrated.

Google search upgrades make it harder for websites to win traffic

Type a query into the Google search bar on a smartphone and there’s a good chance the results will be dominated by advertising.

That stems from a decision in 2015 to test a fourth ad, rather than three, at the top of search results. Some employees opposed the move at the time, saying it could reduce the quality of Google’s responses, according to people familiar with the deliberations. But the company brushed aside those concerns because it was under pressure to meet Wall Street growth expectations, one of the people said.

By 2016, the extra marketing slot was a regular feature. It’s one of the many ways the search leader has altered how it presents results since its early days. Another example is the packaged information Google often displays in a box at the top of a page, rather than sending users to other websites. Phased in gradually over years, changes like these have gone largely unnoticed by legions of consumers who regularly turn to Google to call up information and hunt for bargains. The company says these changes support its mission to organize the world’s information and make it useful and accessible to everyone.

But to many web publishers and other businesses that have historically relied on the internet giant to send users to their sites, Google’s subtle tweaks have siphoned off vital traffic and made it harder — and costlier — to reach customers online.

Debate over Google’s influence is gathering intensity as U.S. regulators prepare an antitrust case against the company in what will be one of the biggest legal clashes between the government and a corporation since the U.S. sued Microsoft Corp. in 1998. Google controls about 85 percent of the U.S. search market, and the changes it’s made have piled pressure on businesses to pay more to appear at the top of search results.

That’s already a focus of regulators. Last year, David Cicilline, head of the House Subcommittee on Antitrust, asked Google if a 2004 statement from co-founder Larry Page that the company wants to get users “out of Google and to the right place as fast as possible,” still described its approach. In a written response, Google simply skipped the question.

The U.S. government is wading into a complex business with many competing interests that Google must balance. Users want the best answers. Web developers need eyeballs. Shareholders demand growth. From the beginning, websites have tried to trick Google’s algorithm into feeding them traffic, and they complain when the company cracks down. However, some web developers and advertisers say this balance has swung too far in Google’s favor.

In the early 2000s, the company’s search engine offered a simple deal: Produce quality information and Google will send you traffic so you can make money showing ads. Reinvest some of that cash to make better experiences, and the web will grow, giving Google more territory to explore and organize.

“Our search results are the best we know how to produce. They are unbiased and objective,” Page and co-founder Sergey Brin wrote when the company went public in 2004. Ads would be few, helpful and unobtrusive, they said.

Former SDNY chief Geoffrey Berman told Congress ‘I decline to answer’ in response to 27 questions

On Monday, the House Judiciary Committee released a 75-page transcript of former Southern District of New York U.S. Attorney Geoffrey Berman’s testimony.

“I decline to answer that question because it is outside of the parameters established for the interview,” was a line Berman repeated 27 times in the transcript (PDF).

Berman used the line to refuse discussion about ongoing cases. He refused to describe the “serious concerns” he had about Attorney General Bill Barr.

He used it to refuse to answer why he believes he was removed from his position. He used it to refuse to answer if he had expressed concerns over how cases would be handled were he removed from his job.

He also declined to answer whether he was worried about the “tradition of integrity and independence” at SDNY.

He also declined to answer whether he had been asked to sign a letter criticizing social distancing regulations put in place by New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio.

He used the line to avoid answering questions about a quid pro quo with Turkey.

“Sir, were you ever told that the President was unhappy with you pursuing criminal investigations that in any way related to him?” was another question that Berman refused to answer.

“After you recused yourself, the Southern District indicted Michael Cohen, including charging him with making illegal payments, quote, ‘in coordination with and at the direction of individual one.’ When asked about this case by the Senate, Barr admitted that individual one refers to the President. Are you aware of the Attorney General’s testimony?” was another question he declined to answer.

“Given the President’s public comments attacking your office, did you have concerns you would be removed if you continued to pursue cases that the President said he didn’t like?” was yet another question he did not answer.

“Had DOJ attempted to influence your investigation of the President’s personal attorney’s associates?” he also refused to answer.

He also refused to answer multiple questions about the reported investigations into Trump attorney and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani.

Air Force Awards Boeing $1.2 Billion for 8 F-15EX Fighters

The U.S. Air Force has awarded a contract to acquire its first fourth-plus-generation F-15EX fighter aircraft from Boeing Co.

The service said Monday that the nearly $1.2 billion contract will cover eight jets, including initial design, development, test and certification, plus spare parts and support equipment, training and technical data, and delivery and sustainment costs.

"The F-15EX is the most affordable and immediate way to refresh the capacity and update the capabilities provided by our aging F-15C/D fleets," Gen. Mike Holmes, head of Air Combat Command, said in a release. "The F-15EX is ready to fight as soon as it comes off the line."

In January, officials posted a presolicitation notice with the intent of awarding two sole-source contracts, one for the F-15EX and the other for its F110 engines. The move initiated the Air Force's first fourth-generation fighter program in more than 20 years.

Last month, the Air Force awarded General Electric a $101.4 million contract for the first, unspecified number of engines; however, Pratt & Whitney which makes the current F-15 Eagle engine can also submit designs at its own expense after the company pushed back on the service's sole-source objective.

According to Boeing, the F-15EX will be able to "launch hypersonic weapons up to 22 feet long and weighing up to 7,000 pounds." The company has said the fighter will be equipped with better avionics and radars and could carry more than two dozen air-to-air missiles.

"The F-15EX is the most advanced version of the F-15 ever built, due in large part to its digital backbone," said Lori Schneider, Boeing's F-15EX program manager. "Its unmatched range, price and best-in-class payload capacity make the F-15EX an attractive choice for the U.S. Air Force."

The service said the aircraft's most significant upgrade will be its open mission systems architecture, allowing the plane's software to be upgraded and installed more easily compared to its aging F-15C/D cousin, which the service has been on a quest to replace.

Officials voiced concerns in 2017 about the older Eagle model's longevity.

"We are already having serious problems with that airframe, with metal fatigue within the longerons on the side of the aircraft," then-Air Force Secretary Heather Wilson said during a forum in May 2019.

Senior defense officials with the Cost Assessment and Program Evaluation office told reporters that they arrived at the Boeing-made F-15EX decision because the aircraft would help keep a "robust industrial base" and provide "a higher-capacity" combination alongside Lockheed Martin's F-35 Joint Strike Fighter.

Former VA Hospital Employee Charged in Deaths of Seven Veterans

A former nursing assistant at the Louis A. Johnson Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Clarksburg, West Virginia, has been charged with second-degree murder in the deaths of seven patients at the facility.

Reta Mays, 45, who worked the night shift at the medical center's medical surgical award, is accused of injecting seven patients with fatal doses of insulin and charged with intending to kill an eighth by the same method between 2017 and 2018.

She is expected to have a plea hearing Tuesday afternoon. Documents unsealed Tuesday in U.S. District Court allege that Mays, whose job was to take vital signs, including monitoring patients' blood glucose levels, "willfully" and "maliciously" injected insulin into patients who either did not have diabetes or have an insulin prescription.

According to court documents, a doctor at the hospital alerted supervisors to the suspicious deaths, all of which involved "unexplained hypoglycemic episodes" in patients with no or minimal history of diabetes.

The charges follow lengthy investigations by the U.S. Justice Department and the Department of Veterans Affairs' Office of Inspector General, as well as lawsuits filed by the families of several of the victims.

Melanie Proctor, daughter of former Army Sgt. Felix Kirk McDermott, filed a lawsuit against the VA in March over the death of her 82-year-old father. In April, Norma Shaw, widow of Air Force veteran George Nelson Shaw, also filed a wrongful death suit, alleging that a "widespread system of failures" at the hospital contributed to the 81-year-old's death.

In June, the children of John William Hallman filed a federal lawsuit seeking unspecified damages for Hallman's June 2018 death.

Prosecutors had said they were investigating up to 11 suspicious deaths at the facility.

VA Secretary Robert Wilkie repeatedly called for the VA Office of Inspector General to release results of the investigation last year, while Sen. Joe Manchin, D-West Virginia, pressed for answers from Attorney General William Barr on the case, saying the delay was tortuous to the families, some of whose loved ones were exhumed during the investigation.

In a statement Tuesday, Manchin said the charges were overdue but he hoped the announcement would bring "some semblance of peace to the hearts" of the victims' families, as well as those "who are still uncertain about the fate of their veterans."

Ghislaine Maxwell Is Moved From “Cell To Cell” To Prevent Assassins From Killing Her

Former Jeffrey Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell is said to have evidence that shows powerful world leaders being involved in crimes against children, and concerns are growing that her life could be in danger.

At the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn, New York, where Maxwell arrived last Monday, the staff has taken extreme measures to prevent an assassination or suicide from happening on their watch.

At first, Maxwell’s clothes were taken away, and she was forced to wear paper gowns as a precaution, so she didn’t have any materials that she could use to hang herself with.

She was later allowed to wear normal prison clothes and is now no longer considered a suicide risk, but authorities are still concerned about her safety. She is being moved from cell to cell in an attempt to prevent potential assassins from knowing where she is.

A source told the Daily Mail that, “She is being moved from cell to cell and sometimes has a cellmate, sometimes not. [The authorities] are terrified someone will try to kill her so they keep moving her around. Jeffrey Epstein died behind bars and they [the authorities] are terrified someone will try to kill Ghislaine.”

There are also concerns that a coronavirus outbreak at the prison could take her life.

“Conditions are terrible at the jail and there’s an outbreak of Covid which could kill her. It’s impossible for her to talk to her lawyers or family in a timely way. How can she prepare a defence when the lawyers can’t even get hold of her?” the source said.

As The Mind Unleashed previously reported, Maxwell is in COVID isolation and hoping to be released on bail because of the virus. However, it is doubtful that isolation from a virus of this nature is possible at a facility like this, especially with her being moved from cell to cell so frequently.

Maxwell and Epstein had many powerful friends, but once Epstein was arrested, those friends likely began to see the pair as a liability. A former jewel thief that had a business relationship with Epstein and a sexual relationship with Maxwell claims that they made him watch videos where he saw at least two prominent US politicians sexually assaulting underage girls.

Earlier this week, a lawyer for Epstein victims said that Prince Andrew is on the secret stash of recordings that Maxwell plans to use as a bargaining tool to get a reduced prison sentence.

‘There is no doubt Prince Andrew would have been captured on footage filmed in rooms and private areas of Epstein’s property,” attorney David Boies said.

On Sunday, Boies told The Mail that, “We know there were cameras throughout the New York mansion and in Epstein’s other properties. We know there were a multitude of cameras and very large quantities of tapes. Prince Andrew would have been included. He would certainly have been included among the people who would have been captured on the tapes.”

At this point, it is highly possible that any evidence that Maxwell had against her former friends is already in the hands of investigators.

Taliban Attack on Afghan Government Building Kills 10 Security Forces

Attack could hinder peace efforts as two parties are working to begin intra-Afghan talks

The Taliban took credit for an attack on an Afghan government building in Aybak city in Afghanistan’s Samangan province. The attack started with a car bomb blast and a gun battle ensued, resulting in the death of at least 10 Afghan security forces. Three attackers were also killed in the violence.

The attack could strain the peace process that is meant to pave the way for a withdrawal of US troops. As part of the deal, the Taliban has agreed to stop attacking US forces in Afghanistan but violence between the group and the Afghan government has continued.

Afghan politician Abdullah Abdullah condemned the Taliban attack. “These blind attacks are against the commitments to start intra-Afghan talks, reduce violence and establish peace and reconciliation in the country,” Abdullah said.

Abdullah signed a power-sharing deal with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani in May after a contentious election. The deal put Abdullah in charge of the High Council for National Reconciliation, which is expected to oversee peace talks with the Taliban.

Intra-Afghan talks are expected to start after the government releases a certain amount of Taliban prisoners. Afghanistan’s National Security Council recently agreed to release the remaining 592 Taliban detainees. Although violence has continued, both sides have recently signaled their willingness to start talks and follow through with the deal.
