A group of 15 House Republicans lobbied President Trump’s administration to reopen a loophole that gives visas to online-only foreign students just as the White House reversed policy to do just that.

This month, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency announced it would enforce federal law that dictates that foreign students are not awarded F-1 student visas for the purpose of attending online courses.

On Tuesday, Trump’s administration dropped the requirement for F-1 foreign student visa holders to attend in-person classes, reopening the loophole allowing them to stay in the U.S. The move came after major pressure from Fortune 500 companies, the Chamber of Commerce, and a lawsuit by Harvard University and MIT.

While the Trump administration dropped the visa requirement, 15 House Republicans signed a letter lobbying ICE to allow foreign students to attend online classes to stay in the U.S. on F-1 visas.

Police Investigating Most Intense Death Threats of Michael Savage’s Career: ‘Die Motherf**ker Die

The San Fransisco Police Department has launched an investigation into death threats targeting conservative radio icon Michael Savage, which included threatening language against President Donald Trump and the first family, Breitbart News has learned.

Savage, 78, has received two threats in the last seven days — one by postcard to his San Francisco home on July 10 and the second via Guerrilla Mail, an email address service where received emails are deleted after one hour.

Savage has posted photos of the postcard threat to social media, which reads with redactions: “On the road to xxx Mike could get hit by road ragers. Your sister. P.S. enjoy your xxx clerk coughed on.” The radio host has since directed his over 200,000 Twitter followers to send tips and/or other information to tiplinethreat@gmail.com. The postcard was sent using a non-profit stamp.

In a telephone interview with Breitbart News, Savage said an anonymous individual replied to his appeal for information on July 13, emailing a death threat containing antisemitic, violent, and sexually explicit content. The email also contained threatening language directed at President Donald Trump and his children.

Savage provided a copy of the email:

Asked if he was concerned for his safety, Savage said that while threats are par for the course if you’re a high-profile conservative in the media, he’s never received such a profane and twisted note in his over two decades in radio.

Savage said the culprit falsely claimed the radio host had recently dined at Alioto’s Restaurant, despite the Chinese coronavirus pandemic and a heart attack that has kept him away from the Sicilian-influenced seafood eatery for over nine months. “Alioto’s has been closed since Covid struck,” he noted. “It’s been open for over 90 years and been through two world wars, though it may not survive California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s lockdowns.”

“This is nothing new,” Savage then said of the threats. “Hitler used some of the sickest people in Germany to kill Jews. There are legions of people attacking people, just look at the protests we see today. They are turning the country into a burning cinder.”

“First, they go for the free speakers, then the First Amendment and on to the Second Amendment,” the radio host added. “It doesn’t happen overnight. The key is to silence the opposition akin to insurgencies like we saw in South Vietnam during the war.”

Savage — dubbed the “Godfather of Trumpmania”– then warned a defeat for President Trump in November’s presidential election could spell doom for America.

“A Biden presidency would be the end of this country,” he judged.

As of Wednesday, Savage said San Fransisco police haven’t circled back with any concrete leads, though directives have relayed the threatening language targeting President Trump and his children to the U.S. Secret Service. Savage added he personally notified members of the president’s “inner circle” of the email.

The San Fransisco Police Department declined to comment on the matter.

In March 2017, Savage was reportedly assaulted by a man “yelling insults” upon leaving a Marin County restaurant.

Poll: Majority Pennsylvania Voters Believe ‘Secret Trump Voters’ in Their Communities

The majority of Pennsylvania voters believe that there are “secret Trump voters” within their communities, a Monmouth University Poll released Wednesday found.

The latest Monmouth University Poll showed Joe Biden, the Democrat Party’s presumptive nominee, leading President Trump by double-digits in the critical battleground state, 53 percent to 40 percent among registered Pennsylvania voters. While three percent indicated that they will cast their vote for another candidate, four percent indicated that they remain undecided. Biden also appears to have an edge among independent voters, leading Tump 54 percent to 33 percent.

However, the majority of voters in the Keystone State believe in the underlying presence of “secret Trump voters” within their communities — voters who largely refrain from making their preference known, for a variety of reasons, but will cast their ballot in support of the president.

Fifty-seven percent of voters “believe there are a number of so-called secret voters in their communities who support Trump but won’t tell anyone about it.” Of those, 27 percent believe there are “many” secret Trump voters, while 17 percent said there are “only a few.” The remaining 13 percent said they were not sure how many “secret” voters are out there.

On the flip side, only 27 percent of respondents believe there are “secret” Biden voters.

“The suspicion that a secret Trump vote exists is slightly higher in swing counties (62%) and Clinton counties (61%) than in Trump counties (51%). The belief in a secret Biden vote is somewhat more prevalent in Trump counties (32%) than Clinton counties (23%) and swing counties (23%),” Monmouth found.

Voters remain relatively split on who they believe will ultimately win Pennsylvania in November, with 46 percent choosing Trump and 45 percent selecting Biden, despite the survey showing the former vice president leading Trump by double-digits. The phenomenon is likely driven by the widespread belief in “secret Trump voters.”

“The media consistently reports that Biden is in the lead, but voters remember what happened in 2016,” Monmouth University Polling Institute Director Patrick Murray said. The specter of a secret Trump vote looms large in 2020.”

The Trafalgar Group was among the first to focus on the existence of hidden Trump support, looking “for hidden preferences by asking people who their neighbors are supporting” in its surveys, as Breitbart News detailed in November 2016:

That question about neighbors allows respondents to present their preferences as the opinion of others, so minimizing possible fear of stigma or embarrassment for supporting Trump.

In Pennsylvania, the “neighbors” question boosts Trump’s score by 4.4 points, up to 52.8 percent. Similarly, Clinton’s score drops from 46.5 percent down to 40 percent. That shift converts a 2-point gap into a 12-point valley. The poll was conducted Nov. 3 to Nov. 45, with 1,300 respondents.

…When quizzed by Breitbart News about the reliability of a “hidden vote,” Cahaly offered several arguments for its existence.

His said his surveys during the primaries were unusually accurate, and also revealed hidden support for Trump, he said. The support was revealed when respondents were asked to respond to a computerized voice on the phone, versus when talking to a live person. “We did live callers and push-button [telephone polls] and we determined there was always a 4.5 point bounce for Trump [with computerized polls],” he said.

Trump ended up winning Pennsylvania by less than one percentage point.

Overall, Monmouth University concluded that Biden’s likely voter position “is similar to Clinton’s summer standing in the swing counties, where she led Trump by 50% to 40%” when compared to the Monmouth University Poll taken in August 2016.

“Interestingly, Trump is doing slightly better now in core Clinton counties than four years ago, when he was polling at 21% to 67% for Clinton. Biden, however, is currently stronger than Clinton was in the president’s base counties, where she was polling at 27% to 60% for Trump,” Monmouth University added.

The survey was taken July 9 – 13, 2020, among 401 Pennsylvania voters. The margin of error is +/- 4.9 percent.

Tom Hanks Questions the Patriotism of Americans Who Don’t Wear Masks

Actor Tom Hanks has slammed Americans refusing to wear masks, again, amid the coronavirus pandemic, questioning their patriotism.

“As somebody who’s gone through this and knows firsthand this is not a hoax, how do you feel when you see people not wearing masks out there?” Colbert asked Hanks, who is currently promoting his latest film Greyhound.

“Are they Americans?” Hanks responded. “You know, I don’t get it “It’s literally the least you can do… a mask and wash your hands, and try to stay 6 feet away from a person. Is this impossible now?”

Earlier this month, Hanks said “Shame on you,” to those opposed to wearing masks, according to a report by People. “If you can’t wear a mask and wash your hands and social-distance, I’ve got no respect for you.”

Hanks also criticized at the Trump administration’s handling of the pandemic, arguing that their position has left “nothing but question marks” about their official position and the steps people should be taking.

“Well, I must say, I grew up looking to our leaders for calm and informed guidance and I don’t think we’ve got that,” he told The Guardian.

In his interview with Colbert, the Forrest Gump star went on to make grandiose comparisons to George Washington’s leadership during the American Revolutionary War and drivers refusing to obey the highway code:

I think of George Washington’s troops at Valley Forge. If you asked them to wear a mask, they would love it because it would keep them a little bit warm. And they would have washed their hands if the snows were not freezing. They would have been happy to do that.”

Honestly, if you drive a car, you think it’s your constitutional right not to use your turn signals? You should use your turn signals, because otherwise you might run into somebody, somebody right run into you, right? You want to obey some aspect of the speed limit, right? You don’t want to go 120 miles an hour in a school zone, you slow down. You try not to hit buildings and pedestrians, you give it a shot, don’t you? Isn’t that the least you can do when you’re driving a car?”
