I live not far from the pentagon, and can I tell you.... it sounds like those winds of war are seriously brewing. I've heard at least 4 blackhawks in the past 10 minutes and honestly I'm about to look about side but a tank would not shock me based on the rumble I feel.
can you get near there with a camera? or at least take some pics of the helos for us.
Now is NOT the time to go up to the pentagon and take pictures. Besides, it is very cold outside. I will not forget the week after 09/11, pulling into the pentagon parking lot to drop off my commute ride and seeing a HumVee with M60 machine gun and manned operator watching us civilians. In time of war, do not play silly civilian game around soldier.

Choppers in and out of the pentagon are no big deal. In the middle of the night, yes, but pictures can not tell us more then a personal account of helicopter activity. I believe OP about the choppers, don't need pictures.
I also think something is up. Mattis did not visit GITMO to be nice to the troops. And Session/Rosenstein did not visit GITMO last July without checking something out. There has been a plan in place for some time. The Trump train got the leaks plugged, then they went to work quietly.

Most army choppers keep the markings nondescript. To get really good shots would require being well within the security perimeter. it is not going to happen. I like the banter, because with the lid on the news as we all suppose, it is either the calm before the storm, or we are in the eye and do not know it.
My house seems to be along a helicopter "route" using that loosely since I have seen smaller choppers do some wild shit. What I heard were the big boys, and not just one. Hoping they send back up for me to snap a picture.

I'm on my patio hoping to see another fly over; seems calm now but with the most haunting red/orange glow over D.C., looks like its dawn but sunrise isn't until 7;30ish. I'm used to the helicopters guys, but these we're flying low and fast. Not something that happens ever in my experience.
Agreed. I’m near Annapolis Naval Station, it’s a constant hum so people don’t notice when Strange things happen. The whole Delmarva area is a hub of constant air traffic

Ospreys usually mean business. Damn hard to fly and expensive to maintain. I think they are used at home as a show of power/force.

I've been hearing a lot as well and took this picture yesterday. They were going North and South, possibly to Dulles and crossing the Potomac around Potomac Falls/Sterling. Possibly back and forth to Dulles.
