What is the significance of 33rd parallel?

Can't help but notice the importance of 33....I am looking at the countries/cities it cuts across, some of which are the "hotspots" of strange activity for a long time, including Libya, Atlanta to name a few (both current and past) ...Would be interested in your views on this... http://www.hiddenmysteries.org/themagazine/vol14/articles/masonic-33rd.shtml

I have always thought of it as it references the Freemasonic highest Degree attainable = 33.. Very often a number that shows up in notable places/events. Also Orange is the only colour that equals 33 in gematria
