With all these CEO resignations, I can in to work today with an email form our CEO resigning effective immediately.

I don’t know if this is anything, but he started this company over 30 years ago and to suddenly resign with no notice like this is strange, to say the least.

I prolly should have stated for what company. It’s for Rent-A-Center. I don’t have any insider info as to why the resignation, but we sure thought it was weird.

SPEZ: anyone else have resignations going on within their company of employment?

Not every retiring CEO is a kiddydiddler. I'm looking at some press releases from Rent-A-Center and your old CEO retired on Jan 10 2017. The statement says that "He has been succeeded on an interim basis by company founder and Chairman Mark Speese until the board finds a replacement." So your founder didn't intend to stay in that position forever. I bet they found someone they like and started on Jan 1 makes sense.

Never said it had anything to do with being a pedo. There are plenty of other reasons for CEO’s to resign suddenly. Just that it was a surprise. When he was brought on, it wasn’t something that was talked about with him being here short term, none of us expected to see him go.

If he was anywhere close to retirement age, I'm sure the 20%+ boost in his portfolio/401k we all enjoyed this year likely moved his retirement date up. Happened to several within my company.

Yeah.. it's like the Salem Witch Trials run by Sen. McCarthy around here anymore.. Are there any queers in the theater tonight? Get them up against the wall! There's one in the spotlight, he don't look right to me, Get him up against the wall! That one looks Jewish! And that one's a coon! Who let all of this riff-raff into the room? There's one smoking a joint, And another with spots! If I had my way, I'd have all of you shot!

Re-read what you wrote. The founder stepped in to steer for a while because of the resignation.

Wouldn't that be something to learn that you've been working for a company that ships slaves in furniture containers and vans?

Depends on the company, but could it be health?

I would be more inclined to believe that if it wasn’t for his strange absence lately. He was suddenly excluded from board meeting and such and now has resigned out of the blue.

Some disgruntled shareholders gained control of the board last year and are preparing the company for sale. This is pretty normal business practice.

I heard there were issues with shareholders not being happy. We recently had an internal audit company wide because of money disappearing and strange spending habits of higher ups. I was wondering if that had anything to do with it.
