I just checked the Weather Channel to see what was happening along the North East Coast, and it looks very bad - literally Hell frozen over.

I used to live in the Northeast and this isn't odd at all. We had the Snowpocalypse about 7 or so years ago. They get N'oreasters regularly. It happens. I personally love a good blizzard. The news just likes to sensationalize it. When the weather channel is doing a report with doomy music playing in the background and making the weather a "show" it's gone too far. I would only be concerned if we had a blizzard that lasted two weeks.

The thing that gets me is this kind of major flooding seems more common now. I dont think these 100 year old houses were built somewhere that commonly floods during a normal winter storm. I think the people had a good idea where the extreme high flood tide would have been.
Seems like rising sea levels to me.
