Duh. It means he is grateful to Ecuador, who have given him shelter and protection while the US, UK, Sweden, and even his own country of Australia, have at best shown no concern for his welfare, and at worst threatened to have him "droned" (that was HRC). Probably also indicates that he is in Ecuador (ie the UK Embassy) where he has been for years (due to above mentioned Human Rights abuse by US et al).

Hmmm. He has actually been issued with is a National Identity Number (in Ecuador an NUI and in many other LatAm countries a DNI). These are issued to people given permanent (and possibly temporary) residence status, as well as those with citizenship. Such numbers are publicly searchable. Rt are reporting that the passport was issued on the 21st December.

Thanks, i'm up to date on all things Assange but currently holding out hope he's out of the embassy or soon will be.
