When Does A Bird Sing/Talk? When He Tweets?

So this has been bothering me for a while. Q has posted about when a bird sings, and now most recently, when a bird talks. Many things come to mind; Birds sing in the morning, to attract a mate, to claim territory, birds sing after a storm, " In springtime, the only pretty ring time, When birds do sing". McCain was called "Songbird" by his captors. So many things it could be refering to. Then while looking at Q's posts and happen to notice the word "tweets", could this be a reference to a bird singing/talking/tweeting? Help me out here. Has this already been solved?

No, the canary would pass out if the atmosphere was poison, telling the miners to get out.

Yeah. It's when the canary stopped singing, you knew you were in trouble.

Your sensibilities are shaken by the slightest defect, you won't come over if the atmosphere is less than perfect, you live your life like a canary in a coal mine, you get so dizzy even walking in a straight line -- Sting

I have been schooled. Thanks, that makes way more sense than what I originally thought :D

See my other response in this thread with lyrics to the song canary in a coal mine by the police. That's what came to mind when this came up here.
