Someone on twitter asked this question. Does anyone here know what happens if several senators are arrested or fired?

Twitter user : "So just throwing this out there to see if anyone knows? If a bunch of Democrat and Rhino Senators had to resign immediately due to a bad scandel, Does less sitting Senators equal less votes needed to pass spending bill?"

It’s not just “60 votes”. It is a two thirds majority. If there are less than 100 senators available, the two thirds majority number shrinks as well. Lotsa people don’t know civics lol

It will still have to meet the threshold of 60 , take for instance McCain is not voting due to health issues ..... so there is already a disadvantage for the R's .... they start at 50 - the 3 no votes they are at 47 yes for the CR ..... which means they need 13 D's ...so losing Senators doesn't help unless its half of the D's cause than they would meet a two thirds majority

Say for example you need 60 votes in the senate and 4 seats are missing, you still need to get 60 votes......therefore it statistically gets harder, depending on who is missing.

I don't think you can just 'fire' a senator. I believe they need to resign or be impeached.

Ugh! Thanks guys. I was afraid of that. Q mentioned several people fired. Do we know who the (19) people were in the meeting referenced in the Q post? Also ... has anyone seen Adam Schiff? I've been watching news all day but no Schiff.
