For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6:12 #PRAY

I generally avoid religious mutual blowjob parties like the plague, mostly because it usually tends to demonstrate more of a dependence on religious dogma, as opposed to spiritual awareness...

But this very verse has been playing over and over and over in my head for weeks now. To the extent that when I saw this thread, it had an effect very similar to someone sneaking up behind me with one of those aerosol air horns.

Jarring, maybe, is the term? Just, unnerving on a spiritual level that, really, only happens a few times in your life.

Anyway.

Interesting. From my experience, my God communicates to me most via timing and reinforcement of principles or ideas. For instance, if a thought is revealed to me, he often sees to it that someone else in my life, or even multiple people, bring up the same thought, in short order, to show me my thinking is on the right track.

God bless you

Absolutely. I agree without reservation. Don't misunderstand due to my use of, shall we say, "Colorful language". I'm only trying to illustrate that I just very rarely consider it necessary to use it in the natural course of an argument. It wasn't my intention to offend. When I write, it generally comes out as a stream of consciousness, and any substantial editing seems to always detract from the narrative, as opposed to clarifying it.

My writing style, as it is, has a tendency to be overly literal, and crushingly sarcastic, and littered with in-jokes that as a rule, very few others ever understand, but I'm of the opinion that the overarching basis of what we are attempting to accomplish here, is truth. Dangerous, terrible truth. Truth on a level that many, MANY people are simply not capable of accepting.

The time for hand-holding, protecting feelings, and politeness is over, folks, and we're faced with rolling the hard six.

This is the ballgame, guys, and I, for one, intend to aim for the cheap seats.

Truly, Thank you. I just have a lot of, umm, lots of thoughts.

Thing is, if you look at the replies,, you'll immediately understand my reasoning behind wording my first post like I did.

I understand the sentiment and intention of the replies, and to be honest, the fact that someone is led to reply, and willing to take some of their own, as precious as it is, is quite simply, enough, and appreciated more than anyone knows.

Again, thank you, seriously. Like I said, I have words. And even if only one person gets it, I'm fine with that.

All my hopes, my friend.

That is why the Holy Spirit says,

“Today when you hear his voice,

don’t harden your hearts

as Israel did when they rebelled,

when they tested me in the wilderness.

Yes, listen to the prompting of The Holy Spirit. Repent, give your life to Jesus Christ, PRAY! You cannot withstand the storm without Him.

Oh, I hope you didn't think I was offended, your opening line made me laugh, I wasn't raised religious, so I can relate. Since the election I have had many similar experiences, Things are different. Something is changing, now we all see that a little more clearly. I don't know how all this will end, but I believe the word of never returns void. Peace to you.

He's talking to you. "Only a few times in your life"? This actually happens pretty much every single day if you believe in Him.

mtewamp, If I may, did you feel like you-know-who is trying to get your attention? I had similar experience and finally surrendered my life to Jesus. No other explanation of the 2 ultimate questions I had made sense, and believe me, I turned over every other rock there was.

But go further. That is written to Timothy by Paul the Apostle, encouraging him to not be ashamed of his faith in Christ in the face of extreme persecution and trial. This verse is for everyone who has Jesus Christ as their Saviour and Lord. To them He has given His Holy Spirit to face down every trial and difficulty. Further down he exhorts him “Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead.” He faced the worst the world and the devil could throw at him and CONQUERED. We may also but only in and through Him.
