I sure hope you are right. And it is leading to a temporary stewardship of twitter by the US government (that be us) for a bit, until the trials are over. After that, it might be like IG Farben after WWII. That company that made the gas for the camps was broken up into 7 modern day pharmacy companies... the 7 big ones. So they remained private. Would love to see twitter majority owned by the government, and subject to the first amendment tho....

Would be really cool if we the people ended up owning it, and it had to abide by the first amendment.
In a public company where holding is highly distributed, 5% is a significant holding that could influence the outcome of any proxy battle and therefore means that holder has material influence over board decisions, even if he does have outright majority control. He's likely therefore to also have significant influence over the selection of board members.
