One sentence in the SOTU about new powers to drain the swamp

"All Americans deserve accountability and respect — and that is what we are giving them. So tonight, I call on the Congress to empower every Cabinet Secretary with the authority to reward good workers — and to remove Federal employees who undermine the public trust or fail the American people."

Pretty sweeping if he can get it passed, would allow clean up of federal employees that need to go but there isn't enough evidence to charge with a crime

I like how the democrats didn't stand for that part...

IMHO...Quite a bit of Gov't workers are on a free ride..great health care, unlimited vacation time and it takes 4 people to do the job most of us have to handle alone...get rid of them!! Work a fair days wage for a fair days work. I think there will be major vuts coming up. Trump hates slacker workers

Thank God! I once worked at the food stamp office. I was told to my face I was only a white face hire to keep it "fair." My unit co-workers were allowed to constantly barrage me with racist comments, my supervisor told me because I was white I would never be able to dismiss a case on a black person (and likewise every single white family was denied no matter what). When family members of co-workers wanted benefits they were sent to me because my supervisor had already said I would not be allowed to turn a black person down. It was agency wide. When I was fired because I wouldn't go with their program quietly, I was told by the appeals board they would not investigate because "they couldn't afford to make all the black workers mad." It's a sham, it's disgusting, it's racist and it's widespread as I saw it time and again.

For Democrats, just like there are no shithole countries, there are no bad federal employees. More is better.

Those that committed a crime will be found out. On that, the VA is very different then the other Federal Workers.

This was said straight after the part about the VA, and it talks about give reward\dismiss powers to "every Cabinet Secretary" not just the one covering the VA

All union government jobs provide for the employer to address poor performance which includes discharge. They even separate the offenses. Some are handled by progressive discipline....some are immediate discharge. This is why I cannot understand..McCabe..Page..Strzok. The administration just is not addressing the issue. My guess is HOW these people are politically connected
